I hope to have a new forum that can copy the content from other website directly!

Contents contained link are not copy well in the forum. Besides, I dislike the link presentation.
Other problem likes [code][/code] is not easier to read. Less post displayed on the forum (only 3 pages ??)

Invision has new upgrade version of forum
[invisioncommunity.com] https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/

[en.wikipedia.org] Invision

I am not sure which version of Invision Power Board does the website use?

Version 1.x.x 2002 Invision Power Board 1.3
Version 2.x.x 2004 Invision Power Board 2.1, 2.2, 2.3
Version 3.x.x 2009 Invision Power Board 3.0
2010 Invision Power Board 3.1
2011 Invision Power Board 3.2
2012 Invision Power Board 3.3, 3.4
2012 Invision Power Board 3.4.7
Version 4.x.x 2014 Invision Power Board 4.0.0

As a player, I hope to upgrade forum to the new one. However, for administrators, there are considerations like IPB license price, server capacity, accessibility, etc.

A new version of the forums has been in the TODO list for time immemorial, but it's probably not gonna happen any time soon
The current forums are based on a heavily modded IPB 2.1.0 board, a new version would probably require migrating the existing data (which is probably gonna be a bloodbath) and then integrating the new board with the rest of the site (which is also probably gonna be time consuming)

Mmmmm..... I personally dread any change to the forums (well, overall I don't like change to begin with, so there's that), I'm personally just as happy as can be with how it is right now.

But different strokes for different folks, I'm not trying to shout down any suggestions, just weighing in is all (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

We definitely don't need a new forum. Some people have mentioned they want a new forum but I don't think there's anything wrong with the one we have, except for a couple small things (such as thread subscriptions disappearing after 30 days).

I'm fine with BBCode plaintext. Worst case, you can format posts yourself if it doesn't look the way you want.

You mean the site prefix before every external link? That was added due to spammers and dumb users.

You can change the display settings at the bottom to see older threads. (Old threads are not displayed automatically for a good reason: it means noobs are less likely to necro them)

Well, now that I think about it, I'd seriously like it if I got a system notification when one of my posts had been quoted. Getting a heads-up that someone's trying to talk to you rather than having to check back on however many threads (or just never knowing) would be nice.

The forum layout is pretty good, what I've always wanted are new forum skins. For a color scheme, I'd like something similar to what dude has presented above, a soft off white posting background with ocean blue color accents.

It would be so fabulous to have more color choices that don't glow and hurt your eyes like the Ambience skin or make you feel like you're breathing smog like in the dark Fusion skin.

It would be nearly trivially easy to make something like this yourself.

Well damn, girl, why didn't you tell me this 20 years ago?

How do I do it?

Figure out the CSS selectors for the areas whose colors you'd like to change, and then put in your own color instead.

You can see the baseline selectors and colors on
https://forums.e-hentai.org/style_images/css_26.css (Ambience)
https://forums.e-hentai.org/style_images/css_27.css (Fusion)

For example, using the Ambience skin, by looking at the pixels we can see that post element (.post1, .post2) backgrounds are #f7f7f7 by default. Let's say I wanted to change it to [www.google.com] #a8c9ff - then I simply replace those #f7f7f7 lines with #a8c9ff.
CODE
.post1 { background: #a8c9ff; }
.post2 { background: #a8c9ff; }

Now you have a CSS file. I know there are addons that can accomplish this adding personalized CSS, but I've only ever used userscripts. Use whatever userscript addon that's compatible with your browser, and paste in your CSS code, like so:
CODE
// ==UserScript==
// @name        colorchanger
// @namespace   none
// @include     https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=210654*
// @version     1
// @grant       none
// ==/UserScript==

document.head.appendChild(document.createElement('style')).innerHTML = `
.post1 { background: #a8c9ff; }
.post2 { background: #a8c9ff; }
`;

Result:
Attached Image

Of course, that's only a single color change. (minus the explaining, that only took a minute or two.) Repeat for all colors you want to tweak.

Where's a userscript for it?

Oh no, I did something on this link and it changed the news page out front to ivory! How do I change it back? I was trying to change the forum color.

I found color codes here. [instant-eyedropper.com] http://instant-eyedropper.com/info/html_color_code/

UPDATE: Never mind, I had installed a color fix userscript and that fucked it up. I removed it and it changed it back. That was scary.

The forums actually have two additional skins/themes (an orange one and a blue one), but for some reasons they're both disabled/inaccessible.
I can't quite remember how to access the blue one (found it by accident a while ago), but the orange one looks something like this:

You can forcefully enable the orange one with a script, but there's no real point in doing so since it has a lot of issues (due to the fact that it's not technically supported)

If one doesn't already exist, then you'd have to write it (or get someone to write it) yourself.

I prefer the interactive color picker I linked above: [www.google.com] https://www.google.com/search?q=html+color+picker

I wonder if one of the HV nerds will do it? They're so good with scripts.

Too bad we can't just have the option to pick a custom color with forum settings.
