In fact, my opinion on this subject has changed pretty wildly. I have long lost interest in the credit/experience ratio and I've been getting more interested in Item World than in Grindfests, even though I don't get any credits directly that way.
The reason is you don't really get many credits by doing grindfests (in my case I usually get around 100 on normal difficulty) and you don't get much experience either. On the other hand, high-level equipments sell for more than items from a lower level, so it's in your interest (at least for the long run) to level up quickly, because that way you will get more credits for your unwanted stuff (remember, the equips you find are 0 to 5 levels under your own level). And the best way to hoard experience like a madman is to upgrade your own equips, that is... Item World!
Yes, I can imagine your patience is limited and you don't want to have to wait for weeks before getting a few credits and upgrading your weapon & armor. In that case, you can always contribute to the site, for example, by uploading hentai. H@H is also an option, even though your upload speed is bad. I don't usually average more than 15 KB/s, but haths are getting there, slow but steady.
Pulling in a real "Necroposting" here; aren't you all forgetting that (maybe it was presented as a patch on the changes to the HV system) there is a trainer module where you can train "+1%exp gain" at 1 per training, thus making the ratio a tad different? Maybe you forgot about it. -.- LOL
One of the reasons that I see for many players to be doing loads and loads of Credits on Gfests is by going "H/C Elemental AoE Mage" style... It's the only viable way that I can view at this point in time. That, in my honest view, is the most viable way of cleaning out fast the grindfest levels without loosing much credits to maintain Mana/Health stable for at least 50+; I'm doing dual-wield with Light-Armour and many times I'm finding myself casting AoEs just to pass by -.-'
