So, one of the reasons I hate reseting stuff came up during today's update, and resulted in lost ability points for some people. In order to lose points you would have to a> not have any points in the credit boost, b> have unassigned points laying around, and c> have obtained points outside of the post-HentaiVerse levelups and training.

"Lost Points" would be points obtained either through special events (like the obligatory Yule points) and through the "bonus" Skill Points you could occasionally gain through the old system with certain skills.

Completely fixing this would involve either rolling back to yesterday's backup (which is about 36 hours old at this point), or writing some stupidly complex hack to analyze the backup and correct the discrepancy.

Since I can't be arsed to do that, I've just added three ability points to all the 5093 people who have recently used the "new" ability tree. This should take care of the vast majority of the lost points.

If and only if you lost more than three ability points, post here with how many points you believe you've lost and I'll check the backup.

Everyone else stay out of this thread.

As a reminder, I think I lost somewhere around 14 total?

i had 15, woke up today with 10, ended up with 13 <3

so 2 lost ^^

Yeah I think I had an extra two yesturday, I'm not 100% sure though (because I leveled up recently).

Edit: I've spent some now, but I'm fairly sure I'm missing two still.

The truth is I have so many points now that I have no idea if I lost or gained with this flat +3 increase. Is there any way you can check mine manually? After all, I was still in the old system earning those bonus points for a good 5 weeks while the beta was closed.

Between the 1 lost point from the yule tidings giveaway, the 4 I should have gained for changing ranks at 20,30,40,50 and the lucky break ones I hit, I'd venture a guess there could be 10+ points out there still for me.

cpt and nick, you both had points in the credit bonus so you wouldn't have lost anything even if you had unassigned points.

hito, as far as I can tell you had 298 points in abilities and no unassigned points at the time of the backup, now you have 303 points in abilities and still no unassigned points. With the three points and two levels gained, I doubt you lost anything.

Fixed Cyriel +2, triman +7 according to the backup.

That can't be right, the number I have at the moment is 67 in tree and 0 unassigned.

I've level 52 + 12 in ability boost + 3 bonus = 67.

I leveled up about 3 ranks before HV, and I got a bunch of Lucky breaks (more then average), so I have lost those, and I do remember reseting the tree around the time of 0.3.3, and only putting points into HP and MP, and remember thinking "why do I only have 17 spare now instead of 22" after HV.

So yeah :\

You really ought to make some kind of in-game "Notification" system or something to be able to inform anyone who doesn't regularily check the forum for changes like these. I check the forum every now and then, and I've still ended up losing credits because of some of the changes that have occured over the time I've been playing (couldn't beat an arena fight which I could prior to change). Not that it might be that important right now, but it will most likely be necessary to have something like it in the future. Not trying to whine or anything, I'm just saying.

I've learned to check the forums whenever I find something to be strange or funny, but sometimes it's already too late when I do.

Anyway, thanks for the extra ability points, really appreciate it. Glad to know it was intended and not something that had run afoul.

For future posts in this thread, it actually takes a not insignificant time to do these checks, so from now, if you think you possibly perhaps could have maybe lost a point and want me to check just to be absolutely completely 100% sure you're not missing anything... I will be correcting your ability points to what they actually should be, so you could lose the three points I've given to everyone if you didn't lose anything. The whole point about those points was not having to do checks for everyone.

I dont think i lost any points but im having a problem where ive maxed out fireball, icestrike and inferno
but when i go into battle the only spells i have are magic missile and the spells i put those 3 exp points in cure and snowstorm.
