How exactly the new training skills work?

I understand Scavenger and Luck of the draw, but not that sure about Quartermaster and Archeologist.
Do these two further increase drop chance for Equipment and artifact?
Or is it like- Scavenger increases chance for a drop, and Quartermaster and Archeologist increase the probability that the drop will be Equipment or artifact?

Well, Spirit has always been quite variable, so let's hope that was just a one-off. But there is a magic damage roll in there, so it could be related.

Are you sure about that? It looks to me like it's a straight "number of posts in last 24 hours". So this post (my first for over a day) should immediately raise the EXP gain from my next battle.

QM and Archeo affect base drop chance, which is the chance that, when the roll for what type of loot comes up, the chance of getting an equip/artifact is increased. It gets an increase of x% of that chance. For example, you just cleared an Arena which has a 10% chance of equip drop. If you have all 50 QMs trained (+100% base, so base+QM), the chance to get an equip goes to 20%. At least, that's my understanding from the wording and various mentions of what exactly it does.

While your calculation is correct, I think it was never stated nor confirmed that QM improves the drop chance for arena rolls; all previous statements and discussions were concerned with monster drops.

It was just an example for example's sake. I could have gone with the old "LOL, assume mobs have a 1% equip drop chance" and it still would have been the same.

You forgot that we also miss gaining a hell of a lot of credits (some more than others). Who knows, maybe Tenboro will have the next update by next month or sooner!

At least you're high-leveled, so you may have better abilities and such.

Yes, but everyone got amazingly stronger with 0.3.2.

I guess this was an all around nerf patch, with more reliance on proficiencies.
