i seriously dont get all the people bitching about the Hentai Verse. for most of us its a free online rpg and we should show Tenboro a bit more respect for the effort he puts into this game.

there is nothing wrong with giving Tenboro feedback about the changes as long as they stay constructive. with the right tone he responds with nice changes like end of arena healing.

i too get the feeling that current cake-grindfest is as hard as the 0.3.2 norm-fest. but reading the news i assume this is just a in between patch to get some stuff out for the actual 0.4 patch. things arent working as good as they previously did for me, i just suck it up. things might turn out better than. untill then i stay patient.

untill then, cut the man some slack or bring out your own online rpg.

i said only that mobs are too poverfull now even on cake to earn proficiency and C in a normal rate: even with cure and shield i pass less rounds on cakegrind then before equipment and moving cure to a 2nd tier

And you know that from trying one grindfest and fleeing at round 10? Level 40-somethings were never supposed to grindfest their merry way to 300+ rounds, that was obviously broken. This? Not so much, but we'll see when I have the stats in.

Well, I really can't complain too much. I am basically where I was before equipment was active. I can see the reason for the changes with the spawn (btw folks mob = mobile, and the HV spawn are not mobiles) to make them tougher. I went about 203 rounds in the cakefest trying for a drop...i think I got one - not sure now. anyway, I miss some of the things that have been changed, but at the same time I like some of the new changes. *shrug* give and take I guess. Also, I know I'll be capitalizing on the montage (i don't care what anyone else says, that is an awesome option).

Ten - Keep up the good work. I miss my $$ bonus's (how will I get money now?) but whatever - minor crap really. I am kind of scared to try the arena now, but I'll give it a shot later today (keep your fingers crossed for me). I hope I can get good $$ from the arena to make up for the bonus loss, then I can afford to train adept learner and ability boost (way too broke for items or auras).

I'll let ya know how the arena turns out for me when I have a chance to run through it.

Actually he like to see us whining and suffering because of some changes. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

@Tenboro: Did you tweak the monster again some times ago? or maybe that's just me. I wonder how much credits the one gold star holder will get every dawn. No, you don't need to answer this let me find it myself tomorrow.

I try the montage from 1 1/2 hour ago and the proficiency increase so fast, you said there is a cap for our proficiency is it based on our level? or what? Yes, you or someone must answer this one.

I haven't tried the grind or arena yet but the hourly battles are going well, so other than losing the credit bonuses, I like the update pretty well.

@Tenboro: awesome job, 2 thumbs up & thanks big time.

I have noticed that the cake is in fact a lie. wow - way tougher. So being the moron, i decided to try normal...uhmmm... it's insane. i didn't even get 2 rounds. basically, cake is now normal & normal is now hard. I won't even bother with the higher difficulties.

I either need a bunch of new & good gear, or I just plain suck and need to get better.

This is exactly how I am receiving the changes, thanks for putting it into words for me.

I guess the only difference in how I feel is, I'm pretty sure my problem is I suck. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I did like being able to play on grindfest (on cake) more or less endlessly. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (edit: By endlessly, I mean, play until I die, grab new items, heal up in battle with those, then repeat. Now, I don't live long enough to replenish my items.) If I want to continue to play like that, it will whittle away at my credits. Seems fair, there is xp and loot to be gained. Looks like it was an effective balancing job, I'd say.

Tenboro "Yes. Congratulations, you've cracked the code. Any other dumb questions?"
Wasn't meant to be a dumb question although I probably came off snarkier than necessary. Sorry about that. But I've been in a couple of browser RPGs and MUDs where that very thing happened. i.e, changes which increasingly alienated newer players.
I want the game to be fun just like you do.

Many people are sacred of the arena now, including me.

I have a suggestion, Temboro: maybe you could decrease the amount of money loss if someone failed an arena challenge to about, let's just say, 75% of the amount used to enter the challenge? Is that ok?

Well see, the reason the arena costs any money to *enter* is to avoid people going into it, then losing on purpose at a late round to take advantage of the higher EXP bonuses. Seeing as the game doesn't actually have any death penalty, I guess you can consider the entry fee to be that.

I don't really understand the problem with people able to do 100+ round grinds. The most I ever got to was 45, but 100 rounds IS a grind. 10-15 rounds is .. I dunno, a brief excursion maybe.

It isn't like being able to grind endlessly gives you some massive advantage, it's still putting in hard slog for modest gains.
Isn't that what grinding is all about?

Since the update I lost an unused ability point. Anyone else experienced this?

Hmm... I guess that makes sense...

What difficulty do you people always play on anyway? Mine's Normal, and my highest Grindfest round is only about 6-7 rounds max!!! does that make me a noob? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

But then again, I don't usually use items very often in Grindfest. I usually flee if I found out I'm losing. I save my items for the Arena.

People were on cake for those 100+ grinds I think, I used to get to 40 or so on easy and maybe 1/2 that on normal. Don't use potions much, do you use the healing spell?
Invest in the healing spell and you'll also want to drop down to cake or easy now.

Okay, I don't know why people are complaining that cake difficulty is too hard now. I've just played on it, and on normal difficulty I can only last 2-3 rounds on normal difficulty, while on cake I lasted 9-10 rounds easily.

:/

Also I love Overwhelming Strikes.

Edit:
Okay, that's weird... I've just flee'd from a battle, and for some reason it's telling me that Fleeing will "Expire in 10 Turns". This is despite the fact that I've already got the Flee box pop up. *shrug*

Dear Tenboro,
I can't see AP for credit bonuses coming home to me. Or am I mistaken and I didn't choose them after my last reset? I really can't remember. Can you please check this for me?

0.1612 deprectating,
0.1852 curative.

Waaaaay too slow and minimum to be effective

I'm also missing about 14 or so unassigned ability points. Other than that, nice update.

can we get some more details on the mechanics of overwhelming strikes?
"This is a self buff that increases your attack damage, hit chance, and parry/block chance for a short period of time."

its hard to tell what effect its having. hit and block rate is alot harder for me to eyeball from the logs, but damage seems to sometimes get a mild boost and sometimes stay the same/hit slightly lower (hitting lower i chalk up to the random damage range, but yeah). is there a range at play on the effect?

offhand strike and cleave are rather easy to see the effect of, overwhelming strikes, while it sounds cool, is quite hard to gauge in combat.

14? You have one unassigned point and 117 assigned points, at level 88 with 30 levels of ability boost (= 118 total points). You're going to have to explain to me where the other 14 points came from. I know some people are missing a few points, and I'm still looking into that - you might be affected if you a> had at some point gotten ability points outside of the normal ways, b> had unassigned ability points hanging around and c> did not have any points in the ability tree credit thingies - but for most people that's at most three points. There's no way you're missing 14.

If you look at the effect during battle you'll see exactly what it does ...

it says when you mouse over it that it gives +10% attack, +50% accuracy, and +10% to both block and parry
