A question about montages, is the proficiency gain you get from it exponential over time? I've let it run for just under 4 hours now, and my gain is 0.0343 for Heavy armor, and 0.0306 for Two-Handed. Which boils down to pretty much one or 2 rounds of grindfest on cake worth of proficiency in 4 hours.

No awnser for my question about 2 handed weapons on page 4? :3

It's not supposed to compete with gain from actually fighting stuff, it's a small additional "overnight" gain that also depends rather heavily on how far you are from the cap. Looking at your stats, you are very close to the cap both in two-handed and heavy, and thus you won't get much from the Montage.

First thoughts...

Update looks good (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) it does, but... i'm somehow missing 5 ability points (yesterday i had 15, now i have 10) And my elemental ratings are... weird.
Like i got all auras on rank 2 but still have 0% in soul and all my other ratings are lower than before ... So idk why but yeah.

I like the idea of a montage though (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) and the new perk functionality is great.
But yeah. Ability points please <3

this is a bad update. I mean, seriously. I've been gaining credits from bonuses in the arena, measly 30 % each, and now it's all gone. and it's already hard to gain credits in the first place. seriously, this is a bad update.

yup.

Other than that i got -4% ratings flat across the board, so i don't know where they went and if it's intended but some of those are just missing like soul.
E: Yeah. Violet aura doesn't add the soul rating, and i got it on rank 2.

so montage gives only a small gain incomparable to gain from battles?

it's funny, really funny changes...
after that upgrade i cant even finish arenas that i've able to before enabling equip(when i was nearly 10 lvls younger), and already lost near 1k c. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) even cakegrinding stopes me twice earlier then before equip(
with nearly endless cakegrind before changes i was able at least to raise my proficiency in a good rate, but now even this method impossible beacause i cant even earn enough to heal myself after cakegrind, while montage gives normal increase rate only when you have high enough proficiency: during 2h40m i've got 0.0244 heavy and 0.0536 dual proficiencies... i usually can get more by 1st two rounds cakegrind...

waiting for next build, hope it'll change something

PS i've started HV only to pay for Doggie Bag Archiver and first time played only for that purpose... with current changes in C-gain system the only way to pay for it is gp from uploading... it is really hard to compete with top uploaders in speed of finding new incomings

You're skilled at fighting while asleep, huh?

You're also close to the cap. What do you expect? I tested it on a variety of ranges, on a skill that had fallen far behind it increased by 0.9 points during those eight hours. For pressing one button that's pretty damn good.

Having a similar experience myself. Made it to round 11 on cake, for a total of 95xp/2000 needed for lvl ...and 50cr that won't cover a heal.

So what's the intention? To make the game too frustrating for all but a few committed masochists?
Changes aimed at sorting out high lvl play seem to make the low lvls nearly impossible to progress in.

Should properly add to soul rating now. Far as I can tell the other ratings are adding correctly.

Finding the right balance for something like this is an immense, very difficult and time consuming task. Give Tenboro some time. Ofcourse that doesn't mean you should just shut up and swallow everything that comes at you. If you're finding difficulty with one point of an update post so, but in a controlled polite manner. User input is important to find a good balance.

That said, I myself really am experiencing grindfest on cake having become quite hard, even to say a slight bit frustrating. I often find myself dieing quite early on, sometimes even as early as round 2 or 3.

I have noticed that the cake is in fact a lie. wow - way tougher. So being the moron, i decided to try normal...uhmmm... it's insane. i didn't even get 2 rounds. basically, cake is now normal & normal is now hard. I won't even bother with the higher difficulties.

I either need a bunch of new & good gear, or I just plain suck and need to get better.

I can see the reasoning behind dropping the credit bonuses, even if I'll miss them terribly. However, this kills the last link between the battle system skills and the main site.

I liked getting "quick browse" and such from the old battle skill trees. HV at least had a credit bonus skill that applied site-wide. It would be nice for the battle system to add some sort of functionality to the rest of the site beyond credit farming.

of course i can't cap when asleep) but i usually sleep 6-7 hours a day and can spend 1 hour to get twice more from grinding then from mountage)
you misundestend me, i like idea of mountage. i said only that mobs are too poverfull now even on cake to earn proficiency and C in a normal rate: even with cure and shield i pass less rounds on cakegrind then before equipment and moving cure to a 2nd tier
