Hello everyone. This is my first time posting in this translation forum.

So I noticed a while back that Tadanohito stopped translating Kuroki Hidehiko's works. Being a fan of the series myself and having a bit of background with the Japanese language, I decided to give translating this work a shot. I'm assuming no one is working on this series, since both 37-year old AND 38-year-old have been uploaded to this site without an English translation.

I'm basing my translaton on this upload.

A couple of things here first:

1. I am a total amateur, doing this for the first time in my own spare time. I really only work on this on weekends, since I already have a job.

2. I wanna use this post as an editing forum as well. Like I said, I'm a total amateur, and this is my first time doing this. I fully expect there to be errors, especially if I translated some things a bit too literally (as is the case sometimes with these kinds of things).

3. I do plan to continue working on the rest of this tank, and probably 38-year-old as well. It's just gonna be slow going. I don't mind though.

4. Jesus Christ, does Kuroki like using long and complicated text intros and outros for his chapters. I never noticed it while reading them in English, but translating them here has made me realize that. Is this why Tadanohito stopped doing these?

[pastebin.com] Here's the link to a pastebin where I put my translation. If anyone wants to pick it up and translate it, go ahead.

Here's some notes on the formatting I used:

[P.####: Ch.#] - Page number and chapter number (chapter number is only at the start of the chapter)

{#} - Bubble number. I tried my best to follow the proper reading order of the speech bubbles. If you're not sure which it is, I've also included the Japanese text inside that bubble (albeit in Romaji, so if you're really unfamiliar with Japanese, it might not be very helpful :\. I've been doing this mostly through notepad, which doesn't play well with kanji. I might do the rest through this pastebin link though, so I might be able to include kanji from here on out.

[text] - to show English text with its corresponding Japanese text. This is usually for phrases I'm unsure about.

?: - This is to mark entire bubbles I'm not sure I translated properly

Alt: - This is to mark alternate translations of text. This is usually for passages that don't sound natural when translated literally, so I put an alternate translation that's less accurate, but more natural in English

Text in all caps are Katakana phrases in the source. If a page contains only SFX bubbles, I mark them as such in the translation with an "ALL SFX" line. Also, I didn't put SFX's in my translation. I thought I'd leave it to the discretion of the editor/typesetter (also, they get really repetitive).

Lastly, I apologize for not being very consistent in this. I'll see if I can make my

I appreciate any feedback. Anything to help me continue this.

Update: Chapter 3 95% done. There's just one speech bubble that I have to go back to, and then I'm going to go back over the chapters to re-edit and review my work so far (particularly, I want to add an optional translation to the sections where they address each other directly, instead of by name). Afterwards, I'll start work on chapter 4.

Jesus, its been a year and a half since I've touched this

Well, just wanted to say I've decided to have another go at this translation. It's been a while, but my interest has been rekindled. Hopefully, I can get through the entire tank this time
