Logging the data, writing a script to filter through them, identifying possible botting behaviors, false positive/negative/etc. I'd assume a lack of time to implement all those details.

Buying or selling something should allways be some kind of:
A offers ITEM for price X
B buys ITEM for price X
A gets X reduced by FEE
or
A asks for ITEM, offering X
B sells ITEM and gets X reduced by FEE
(A gets ITEM, obviousely)
As long as there is someone selling or asking for an item, other users should always see the price.
If this leads to unexpected prices or abusive use of bots, I guess there is something else that is wrong...
