You probably have some equipment that increase the proficiency. Go to your equipment screen scroll down twice and check + supportive magic.

There's another element in the equation. This element is a constant that is increased by 0.1*prof. I didn't run the numbers properly to determine how that factor is increased, but its the only way the math works.

Man do I feel stupid.

Anyway, I don't have any +prf to supportive, so...

3 * (x + 0.1*15.11) = 7.5

Apparently x is about 1.

just a quick question concerning selling equipment:

why is it that i can sell a staff for 750C but have to pay 4-6kC to get one of similar quality?

i dont mind having a lower sell price, but shouldnt they be in roughly the same league? "trading" equipment is impossible with current pricings.

sell price is roughly 1/5th of the purchase price, I believe

I've added readouts for evade/block/parry and interference/burden to the equip screen. Also tweaked some stuff on the battle screen.

I wasn't expecting my victory panel to suddenly appear similar to how frequent healer items do.

Wanted to allow up to ten mobs again without having the ugly scrolling appear. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

BTW, I've been having a display glitch under Firefox 3.5 when it comes to showing the stats on a piece of equipment. It seems to happen randomly on them, sometimes equipping them fixes the issue but it is slightly annoying.

Part of the stat number gets cut off which throws me off, especially when I get a clean cutoff and think something only has an interference of 2.

That is a good idea.

Can't say I've seen that myself, but I made some small tweaks to how those tables are set up. Let me know if you're still getting it.

Yea I'm still getting it. I should note I don't appear to get it in IE8 and Firefox 3.5 on my linux machine also does not get it.

In other news: I have a Divine proficiency bonus from my equipment, but unlike the attribute bonuses there's no indication on the character main page. It just shows the unmodified value. (Can someone tell me if the same applies to elemental ratings?) I know it would get a bit crowded if everything had a "+n.nn" next to it, but maybe we could have some kind of highlighting to show where a bonus has been applied?

Or some sort of mouseover window that shows the bonus so as not to overtake the screen economy?

Or maybe in the same fashion as it is now with the main stats ?

On the other hand, after buying some armour, I am now able to survive 10x more rounds. Excellent.

Try 6 or 7....and I'd swear on a stack of Bibles that get even harder to hit still, once their HPs get low.

(Almost got killed by an Apathetic Canuck that way......Spirited him down, hacked away at the remaining HP, and all of a sudden he was like +20 to Dodge. Literally took about 8 hits to finally get one or two in!! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

Hey Tenboro, with equipment stats up now, are you able to tell us what proficiency will do once they're turned on? Just curious.
