Hey Tenboro I'm curious, is the parry chance for an offhand weapon applied constantly or is it similar to the way the offhand weapon attack procs? Or perhaps it's not applied at all or only applied to a certain percent?

Attack success = Hit chance - dodge chance - parry - block - evade - chance to apply offhand parry
OR
Attack success = Hit chance - dodge chance - parry (including offhand) - block - evade

'Cause it's probably not applied in that order, or even remotely like that, but you get the picture. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

You mean if the offhand has parry? It's just added to the total parry pool you see under Statistics.

I am loving heavy armor right now. Most attacks do nothing to me, which makes up for the reduced accuracy, reduced action speed and inability to hit with spells that target an enemy. Mid-bosses and some of the normal enemies still do damage, and magic-based attacks still hurt, but its nothing I can't handle now.

And hitting two enemies is a godsend. Thanks much.

Did monster evade go up or something? Been missing a lot with my physical attacks lately (87%+26.6%) and it was getting rather...annoying yet odd :X

The way weapon hit chance works was changed. It used to be hit_base + hit_equip - evade, now it's err.. (1 - ((1 - (hit_base - evade) / 100) * (1 - hit_equip / 100))) * 100 %.

Hmm...now to figure out how much evade the enemy has cause using an evade of 10% it's coming out with me having a 103% chance to hit them (which, oddly, is the same as the first formula). Either that or I'm doing the math wrong and the original number of 54% chance to hit was right >_>

edit: Or I was doing it wrong and it turned out to be 83% (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) I hate math that deal with percentages...

Easier said.. the equipment hit chance bonus reduces miss chance by a percentage of the remainder after the base has been calculated. So if you have 20% chance to miss normally, 25% hit bonus on gear will reduce the miss chance by 25% of 20%, or 5%. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

emm... so weapon now affects only miss chance(eg 50% hit chance from weapon divide miss chance by 2)?

edit: damn... finally you answered it while i was writind question (=

edit2: what actually "parry" is(i'm asking how can i use it)? it is smthg special for weapon type/fighting style or what?

I just ended up goin with a dagger and throwing my weapon hit over 55% :X

Hey Tenboro, just a question about Mutant Peacocks and their Peck spell.

It seems to cost then only a small fraction of their mana (15%?)and seems to be as effective as other monster's spells which cost around 50% mana pool.

Well, that didn't really turn out to be a question, more like an observation.

It's basically a just like a shield's block, but you can't parry spells. But yea, the higher your parry is, the more overall evasion you'll have...and even with 55% hit from weps I still miss cake mode mobs a fairly large amount, about 1 in 5 attacks are dodged...><

Oh, and it's not like bleed or stun, it's like evasion on armor, it's something that happens to yourself, not procs off of a hit. If anything, you could say it procs off of the mob's hit. Just think of it as another "dodge" in the battle log.
