A double post is a double post, you know there's a edit button? You've never played Ys have you? You start with a butter knife, though if thats what you want... you could buy one.

My question about hitting two monsters in one turn has not been answered. Do we absolutely need to attack the lower monster in order to hit two monsters or should it also work with the upper monster?

I've played enough RPG that I know you rarely start empty handed.

I just feel that some people can go through massive rounds of grinds with proper equipments while some others can barely get through due to lack of equipments available is kind of unfair. But who am I to judge, let Ten do his thing.

By "3 points for Shield and 7 points for Barrier." does that mean 1 point =1 damage?
If that is so than that is pretty fucked up. Considering the fact that you can only train shield from level 30, for some of us 40 before the change, that means if the monsters hit you for 50-3 damage on lvl40 the effect is pretty much 0 and you just get killed in the first round. With weaken beig 5 points black hole you have nothing to defend yourself with. I won't even take armor in the equation because it is almost impossible to find any and buy some cheap one to start with does not seem to be the option either.

I think the best way would be if stats like Weaken, Shield and Barrier had some decent % from the start, 40% maybe? And then you can increase the % by trainig their proficiency. Being butt naked from the beginning is a terrible thing.

Well, I switched from my mage Staff to axe and shield, and managed to survive my second hourly with a few dodges and a block. The third hourly, still with Axe and Shield was another disater with me casting Cure twice after twice taking 51+% shots from the monsters. I dies while casting my third Cure.

As it stands now. I will not be playing HV again, until I can get some armor, at a reasonable price, from the store, or there is a drastic rebalancing to fix the now unplayable HV.

I'll keep updating the Equipment pages for a while. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

One point = 1 damage lunatic. At ~22 proficiency that's ~9 damage on weaken, with it lasting 18 turns. It didn't really take me long to get it that high in the 5 levels I had to train it though, though with the new changes it might be harder to get it up fast...but then that's where ingenuity comes in (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

I think people who have lower level equipment should find people who need them, and both coordinate a sell/buy transaction. The seller doesn't get more credit from a sale like this, but it's a good deed

That's actually a pretty good idea. Instead of us needing to spend 7x the amount to buy someone's junk. That'd be kinda hard though as I'd imagine everyone is F5ing the equipment bazaar very often.

I've made a bunch of tweaks to the system, most importantly the equipment shop will now always stock some items of every type. So there shouldn't be fifteen swords and no armor pieces anymore. Also the overall physical/magical mitigation effects from armor has been reduced across the board, and normal monster attack damage has been reduced by a similar amount.

Most of it was. I equipped what I wanted and kept a few that I might want to use in the future. But I offloaded probably 50+ pieces of equipment total. Of course tenboro had to make the change while I was stocking the shop for him.
