So... Not going too well for me so far. I've already failed two Arena challenges that I would normally expect to beat without too much trouble, partly due to resists/interference nobbling my magic and partly due to certain monsters apparently getting enormous boosts to
their magic. Horrible Rape seems to be particularly horrible at the moment. I could probably have survived if I had used a few health and/or mana items at the right time (ie several turns
before the point where I actually realised things were going pear-shaped), but I can't help feeling a strategy of throwing a Godly Health Potion at every battle isn't going to be very practical.
Well, I hope that can all be sorted out by choosing the right equipment (not that I have much to choose from at the moment) and adjusting my stats to work with it... not to mention my abilities. Speaking of which: no free AP reset this time? That seems a little unfair given the scope of this update. How about one free reset, but don't reset the counter, so the next one will still be at the old price? Seems like a reasonable compromise to me...
What else was there? Oh yes, Grindfest. So the monsters give more EXP to make up for them being stronger. That's all very well, but EXP was never my main reason for doing Grindfest - it was to get items and build up my proficiencies. But then again, that was probably all part of the master plan. After all, we can now get items from the shop, and it looks like we'll have to specialise our characters more, which means there's no point in trying to be proficient in everything. Ho hum.
Finally, that flashing thing. Nice touch, but
please get rid of it on dead monsters. In fact, why not just clear all the status effects when they're dead? And having it on Flee is possibly somewhat pointless. (IMG:[
