Anyways, uh, yeah, still working on that new comic. Currently I'm coloring it so it may be another 2 weeks before I can say I'm close to being done. These things that I'm uploading are just quick pieces for me to get over my perfectionist tendencies. I can spot dozens upon dozens of errors in here, but I just have to trust that they don't detract from the overall quality of the image. Speaking of quality, the image resolution is a little larger than what would normally fit in here so I just embedded it for your convenience.

In the near future I'll be posting a post-mortem of the comic, showing every single issue I can find along with solutions (if I can come up with any). I figure it'd be interesting for you guys to see what I see in my work, and maybe if there's any other artists reading my stuff they can learn a few things about what mistakes to avoid and how to avoid them. Or even better, they can offer some advice on what I can do in the future.

This series of 14 pictures was completed for Super Shanko as part of the Art Battle thread. Challenge started on March 5th, 2018. Challenge completed on March 25th, 2018. 20 days for 14 sketches. Normally I'd feel humiliated for taking so long to do this number of sketches, but considering this is the first time I've ever drawn furries or poses, angles, hairstyles, etc, this complex, I'm not going to beat myself up too badly over it. I'm still going to beat myself up over it a little bit though, because that's just part of my artistic process.

Come to think of it, why didn't I just ink these? I had to go back over the original sketches to pretty them up, so it wouldn't have been too much extra work. Ah well, whatever. I have other things I need to do. Lessons for later, I suppose.

Originally this was the final part in a series of sketches showing her giving a hentai-grade titfuck-n-suck followed by the resulting explosion of semen. But then I realized I’m bad at drawing hands and had to give up to focus on this one. Her hands are still bad, but at least I can look at them without feeling my blood pressure rise.

Because I don't have as much time to draw as I'd like, and I need to keep up my presence on the World Wide Web, I tend to combine practice with production. Now I could just send out sketches every few days, but my sketches are not of a... presentable quality. Instead, I identify things I want to practice and things I feel like drawing, then I make a thing out of them. This is one of those things, brought to you by:

• Backgrounds
• Furries
• X-Ray/Internal shots
• Layering practice
• Insomnia

This is also the first in a series of pictures, just something to try out a new method of layer organization and editing. If you spot an error, or something I can change, or improve, let me know so I can put this new layering setup to the test.
And yes, I know her tail is missing, but I simply could not get it to look right no matter how I made it look or where I made it curl. So I'm just going to say, "artistic license", and leave it at that.



I guess I'm a furry/hentai artist now. Strange. Ah well, can't deny that drawing furries is an interesting and educational experience from an artistic perspective.

Just a quick update on that last promise I made. I got bored of it, so I dropped it. There's also some shit happening in my life away from the canvas. So... you know. Priorities.

Figured I'd explain why I haven't been doing things recently. Just being considerate.

So I'm working on another really big project and it's so much more involved than anything I've done before because I've had to do a bunch of research and teach myself a couple new tricks. Because I tend to get bored with a single project very quickly, I've been working on this between other more important things. On my tumblr I mentioned that I wasn't going to draw furries very frequently and I would only draw them as a palette cleanser, and this is true, if only by technicality. I'm doing a bunch of sketches behind the scenes and they're stressful as hell on top of all my other responsibilities, so drawing furries is a good way for me to destress. And since I can't show you what I'm working on yet, you guys are getting more furry stuff from me for a while longer. I'll be sure to give you all some human stuff as well, don't worry.

In the meantime, I'm going to continue working on my backgrounds. I'm getting there, ever so slowly, but I'm getting there. If anyone can point me in the direction of some good coloring tutorials that go well with my usual cel-shading style, let me know. I've found a few but they're not all that great for helping me understand why their particular style of background works.

Did you know that sleep deprivation affects your mind in much the same way that alcohol does? Simply put, it removes inhibitions and makes you more willing to give in to impulse. So long story short, I finished this after 26 hours without sleep and that's why there are so many weird little errors.

Before you ask, yes, I have tried drawing under the influence. But when I drink all I want to do is lay down and mope. I'm one of those rare "depressive drunks".

Also, my apologies to Super Shanko. I promised to work on your requests, and while I have been doing preparatory work I wanted to break up my furry streak a little bit so I drew this instead.

Finished this one at about the same time as the last furry piece I did. So this is about a month old. As you can tell I didn't put much effort into the poses and instead focused more on the background and did some experimenting with textures, overlays, and lighting effects. Some of my ideas paid off, others I'm not so sure about. And then there's the usual errors that accompany my work, like shading errors, minor anatomy errors, uninteresting backgrounds, somewhat sloppy linework, etc.

Overall though, I still feel good about this one. Mainly because I haven't looked at it since I finished it and it doesn't make me cringe. Then again that could be a sign I've hit a plateau or have become complacent... maybe judging personal improvement by how much shame my old work gives me isn't a good metric...

So uh... I finished this one EARLY last month as part of an elaborate inside joke between me and my friends, but it seems I had only one opportunity to do it and I didn't take it. It's been over a month and no new chances have shown themselves to me, so I just have to give up and move on. Here's to hoping that by merely admitting I've given up, a new opportunity presents itself. And ignores what metaknowledge I have of how Murphy's Law works.

Yes. I know. More furry stuff... but I can't help that all the non-furry stuff I've been doing wasn't working out. Also, if I had an ounce of foresight I probably could've prevented this tragic case of "Floating Dick Syndrome (FDS)". This started out as a practice sketch for a bunch of different techniques and brushes I wanted to try, but then grew into an entire piece. And by the time I fully realized that there was just a floating penis in the middle of all this, it was too late to fix it without redoing nearly everything.

That being said, this piece feels complete to me. Or at least it nearly does. There's still a few things that bother me about it, but there's so much about this one that I like that it's hard for me to feel bad about those mistakes. Like those hands! They're a bit weird, but they're not bad! For me, that's progress! And that semen! It doesn't fully follow the contours of her breasts but it's really close and it looks sufficiently goopy. Then there's also the background and the lettering and the perspective and the slight fur texture across her body. Overall, I'm glad I took the time to finish this one.

Nothing wrong with some good ol' furries, though I can't help the coincidence of the black chick looking familiar.
