I've been using the tag flagging perk for a while now since I had hath over. The "hide" option is okay, it doesn't really help me. But what I would love, is if there also was an option to exclude your negative tags.
With that, I'd be able to browse the Doujinshi and Manga categories without a quadrillion scanlations in german, spanish, french, chinese, cgrascalian, korean, etc. Feels like more than half of what is posted there happens to be scanlations.
I wanna be able to just see the new scans when I visit. That would save a lot of time spent browsing.
Make it happen and I will be very happy.
And a different question, if I get the Source Nexus perk, will I be able to download full size images with the hath downloader?

It seems a lot more stuff gets scanlated to other languages lately. Problem is by hiding with tags like this some of those are the original versions with no scanlations so you miss out on those. Mostly chinese/korean stuff. Havent checked if something like this was suggested/discussed already but IMO there should be an option for default and secondary languages. So if a gallery exists in english and so is your preferred you only see that. Else you see it in the original language or other preferred language. When a new scanlation gets posted you see it only if its in your preferred language with links to other language versions. Might not even be feasible and would probably take a lot of work reworking the system/retaging/linking etc and a requirement for uploaders to set the parent and the language tag of a Doujinshi/Manga but in the long run i think something like that would be worth it.

I'm of the opinion that if it's only available in chinese or korean, it will be presented in original japanese soon enough or it's simply not worth having. That would thoroughly fix my issue as well, but it sounds as you say a bit more complicated. I think the means to make negative tags exclude galleries is already on the site in the form of filters. So making them behave that way should in theory be very easy. It would also benefit the site since it makes the hath perk more attractive. Hopefully for more people than me, who like to be up to date with new scans without browsing through clutter. Simply using filters would work for me as well, but only if filters were usable without inputting any search keyword. Typing in a bunch or filters without anything to search for, turns up blank results now. This post has been edited by 12qwerty: Sep 5 2011, 20:35

Source comparison
<edit> Already exists (see next post) </edit>
A way for people without source nexus (or equivalent) to at least get a clue about what the source dimensions are would be nice. By this, I mean provide original dimensions on every image, perhaps as a "original image"-type link which is just unclickable or leads to 403 for people who are not able to see original source.
I'd also like to see a way to actually compare quality by providing the source for one image. Perhaps make it available for a certain image, say 10, of each gallery. Or if it's not too much bother, allow people to check the source of one arbitrary image every day for each gallery. It should not be locked to the first few images of a gallery, as the cover and such sometimes is a different scan than the actual content. Something like being able to see the source of the first 5 images of every gallery perhaps. That way, it's not useful for ripping or viewing source images regularly, but still useful for comparison about replacement questions.
Point is to be able to compare whether you have a higher quality gallery without having those special perks.

There is a link at the botom of image viewing page for downloading original. It shows original dimensions too. You can view few original images per day for free.

Oh? I'd seen it on some images, but this gallery I wanted to check earlier didn't have those links, so I assumed there had to be some kind of special condition. Checking it again, it is apparently a low quality scan, while some wide images had been resized, making me think it was all resized. I'm content with that then. Works great. ^^,

no idea if this has been suggested before, but i honestly dont want to go through 30 pages looking for it.
improve the search engine to allow for better customization, like searching keyword A in tags and gallery names, while also searching keyword B in only gallery names.

QUOTE(Railander @ Oct 24 2011, 22:01) improve the search engine I don't think Tenboro is a big fan of writing this code. IIRC, the only notable change in search in the past few years has been file similarity algorithms.

can we eliminate the 60 seconds between comments delay for established accounts (with some forum posts or created x months ago or with at least one upload or such)?
I often post comments on why the gallery should not be replaced (in Gallery A, saying that B is more complete, and B, that A is high quality), or link parts of the series or such. It is annoying I have to wait close to a minute for some of those.

CODE Keywords must be 3 letters or more, and you can use up to 8 keywords.
Changing this to 2 letters or more would be nice.

Some tags are only 2 letters, and even some artists' names.

Just FYI, those are supposed to be tagged differently to compensate.

It'd be nice if there was a way to subscribe to tags or a search terms. For example, if I wanted to keep up with every Rei doujin that came out, I could subscribe to the tag "Rei Ayanami" and there could be an RSS feed for that tag or every new doujin with that tag gets put in a special favorites folder or something. Right now there are a bunch of tags I want to keep up with and it's a pain to do this from bookmarks because the 3 second search cooldown prevents me from checking them all at once.

My god no! having to wait a whole three seconds. Why don't you just, I don't know, try doing them one at a time. If you enter each search manually, it should take at least three seconds to type each thing.

Two links to access the archives directly without having to go through the popup thingy would be nice. Something like this:
