As many of you know, .85 patch (codename: Script Breaker) happened. As a consequence, pretty much all hovering scripts stopped to work.

But every cloud has a silver lining: while it's surely annoying, I guess this is also a good chance to get rid of the many versions of the various scripts that were lying around and unify them into one.

First step will be to list all the requirements, from which list we'll pick the priorities, submit to tenboro and know what's feasible and whatnot. I'm pretty positive that reloader-like actions like hovering and everything else that were previously legit/tolerated will remain as such.

In a second moment, we may start something like a crowdfunding to encourage coders.

Also, suggestions and updates are always welcome. Oh, and just in case, no PMs. Post here or nothing.


[edit]: just to be clear, this thread is intended to replace old gameplay hovering scripts, like Reloader(s), Mousemelee, Hoverplay, CracklingCast. For a request to be added here, it has to be quite mainstream. For all the rest, they'll be eventually fixed sooner or later. for very particular requests, you'd better

List of requested features/requirements for the script. Those in red have already been fulfilled, according to following posts (mostly on Altless and Mousemagelee). This means they may be or may be not good starting points, depending on how your script behaves:

Mandatory:
  • Hovering (it goes without saying)
  • smooth gameplay (it goes without saying)
  • Spell chain for mages, reversible to a melee version: basically, only one script for both playstyles. Not negotiable
  • Cooldown counter
  • Round counter
  • Turn counter (including speed and time spent)
  • Buff duration
  • Procs on monsters duration and stacks
  • Gem Icon
  • Stop on HP/MP/SP thresholds, Spark triggering and buffs expiring (buffs from scrolls included, preferably with an icon)
  • keyboard (and eventually mouse) buttons bound to certain actions (ie: right click for Imperil, space bar to solve a hovering stop)
  • ED/Flee confirmer
  • All functions have to be configurable in the first lines. And in toggleable modules when needed
  • Lines of comments for non-coders to understand what's happening and what to modify
  • Support for both hentaiverse.org and alt.hentaiverse.org and all battle modes
  • Support for at least Firefox and Chrome (personally i despise the latter, but since many people use it, well...)
  • Credit for original coders if needed
  • Support for subsequent fixes if needed, at least for a certain amount of time

Appreciated, but not mandatory:
  • Heal rotation, including restoratives
  • Stop on Channelling
  • Clickable Riddlemaster
  • Hide log
  • Skip popups
  • Track drops
  • Bind spells to number keys (and possibly to mouse buttons too. ie: right-mouse Imperil)

Alright, I'll list the stuff I had before 0.85 that I'd like to see again.

* Track Drops In Battle (post-battle readout of all the loot, credits and XP gained in battle)
* Percentile Ranges (values of certain important rolls in equipment pop-ups)
* Equipment Comparison (the ability to see base rolls and compare values with equipped items, etc.)
* Round Counter
* Item Manager (searching, filtering, mass selling/salvaging/etc of equipment)
* Scanner
* CracklingCast (stops hover and creates icon to remind re-casting buffs, take potions/heals at thresholds, stop channeling from expiring)
* No Blinking (for expiring monster debuffs and player buffs)

Sapo, Sickentide and others have done a great job already with replacements for some stuff like:

* hoverplay
* spell cycling
* effect durations
* gem icon + cast on hover
* skip popups
* hide log
* RE notification
* bind spells to number keys (the "Imperil script")

That's pretty much all I can think to ask for.

hey, hey! please, let's not start with personal configurations. it'll already be hard this way. this thread is only for what seems to be the minimum requirement possible to play proficiently nowadays - that is, a hovering script. or at least, judging from what i read until now.
all the rest are things that single players will decide whether to use or not. also, i'd like for the first version to be as lightweight as possible. there's still time to make it heavier.

particular mention, item manager: i guess the best thing is to ask holy_demon to fix it, if possible. i already pmed him, btw.

is it possible to integrate a real live timer within the battle? which could be included in the turn counter
not just the time you needed at the end.

You click on the difficulty name, it opens a scroll-down menu, you click on another difficulty, it takes a couple of seconds and updates the difficulty.
In every page out of battle.
Useful if you change difficulty often. You don't have to go every time to the settings, and scroll down to click the "apply", then having to get back to the page to start a battle.

sure I tried to use it, but its not the accurate time since you to start and stop it yourself, thus switching back to HV after starting it.

Im just saying it would be cool to have a timer while fighting to know how fast you are at a specifc round in DWD or in a FEST for example.

a new monsterlab script is also excluded ? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

the current overlay is horrible 1 of my monsters morale/hunger is not even being shown! only the name of it.
and some others are bugged.. full morale but on the monsters list its almost empty.. I feel like we are in a Alpha version right now
