If you look at some of his translations its very obvious that he simply OCRs all the text and then runs it through some sort of machine translation, which he then ends up rewriting to sound less awful. some of his translations are actually pretty close to what an actual translation would be like because the MT algorithm didn't fuck up.

you will find that he managed to not realize that the Oni was stating her name to the boy, in full kanji with furigana included. he instead somehow turned the sentence into another question from the boy. Something like this is straight up impossible if he actually had any knowledge of japanese. A machine translation is likely to fuck it up though. Infact, if you type the exact sentence into google translate you get: "It is called the name of the straw?" which explains how he managed to fuck it up so bad.

It goes without saying that something that has already been "translated" and posted is very unlikely to get a second more accurate translation.

Lots of people do it, most of the time nobody ever finds out because they manage to make the english read normal.
I ranted about this in some other thread already, but most of the community doesn't really care. they just want to jerk off to pictures with english dialogue on them.
