• Continue with the current auction, but extend the end time +24 hours to 14:00 Sunday

How does that sound? I don't think the changes are significant enough to close the auction completely, but I'm open to ideas if anyone doesn't like this solution. Feel free to post here or in the Discussion thread.

Why does this matter? Everyone wants to hoard creds for GP now, so they may not have bid as much as they did ealier, meaning some of the bids may now be over priced due to the demand for creds/gp.

That said, I do believe that everyone *should* stand by the sales they have promised and the bids they have made, thus, carry on as usual is my opinion.

Minimum bid increments:

• Start bid: 50k unless noted
• +30k if bid < 200k
• +50k if 200k <= bid < 2m and the item is not a [Mat]
• +3% for everything else
• A proxy bidder's last bid is exempt (1k minimum increment)

My mat19 bid was 462k, so the next bid should have been 512k (+50k), instead kevinloo was able to bid only 476k (+14k)
My mat21 bid was 279k, so the next bid should have been 329k (+50k), instead kevinloo was able to bid only 288k (+9k)
My mat22 bid was 270k, so the next bid should have been 320k (+50k), instead kevinloo was able to bid only 279k (+9k)

Now I understand that proxybidding has the (very odd) bonus of having only a 1k minimum bid IF their max bid is reached.
And I understand that kevinloo *could* have set a different max bid on each of these items, generating the above results.
But it seems very odd and unlikely to me that he would have a different max bid for mat21 and mat22, considering they are the exact same item...

Is this something you are able to check? Ie, is the auto-proxy-bidding thing working properly?

So, what IS the bid increment for a mat? +30k to 200k, then +3%?

Yes, I tested and it would appear to be 50k start, +30k per bid until 200k, then +3% for each subsequent bid.

Others might think differently, but I'm doubtful the lottery changes will affect credit value of gears by any noticeable amount.

The only change that's that relevant is monster HP scaling, I think. I haven't had time to test it, but (for instance) lower-level players playing high difficulty might find monsters notably less tough to kill, while higher-level players playing low difficulty might find monsters notably more tough to kill, which will affect their demand for certain types of equipment. So I want to give people a bit more breathing room to test out the new changes and figure out if they want certain equips more or less than before, or if they want to cancel bids or retract items, or something like that. I imagine people will probably be more comfortable having 48 hours of breathing room to test and think instead of only 24 or less.

Not that a single auction matters a whole lot, but I think it's the right thing to do.

That said, I do believe that everyone *should* stand by the sales they have promised and the bids they have made, thus, carry on as usual is my opinion.

The "intend to buy" and "intend to sell" posts and mails are meant to be semi-binding just so people can't cancel things on a whim in the middle of an auction and (possibly) cause confusion and mess things up. But a new patch popping up in the middle isn't necessarily something that buyers and sellers should be expected to know and plan around ahead of time - only the boss knows for sure. Since the unexpected happened, I think it's fine to give everyone a chance to reconsider, if they so wish.

Given that the changes that relate to equipment aren't that big, I can easily understand if it doesn't matter to 90% of participants, but the remaining 10% (who may or may not speak up) would probably prefer the leniency, so I'm happy to give it to them.

The situation is a [Mat] whose current bid is above 200k, so:

Minimum bid increments:

• +30k if bid < 200k
• +50k if 200k <= bid < 2m and the item is not a [Mat]
• +3% for everything else

It doesn't fall into the first two categories, so it falls into the third category, for which the minimum bid increment is +3%. (the other person's bid having been a proxy bid isn't important)

As always, I highly recommend proxy bidding to avoid repetitive posting and sniping headaches.

I have no problem with anyone taking back their items or bidders retracting their last bid because of the new update.

I say let it continue. Scremaz is correct that this update doesn't really affect gameplay. The only thing I see is the price of Happy Pills going up. That benefits the seller.

Gameplay: bug here and there, yeah they dont affect, unless they innactivate some skills or just froze the game... thats not annoying.

Strategies: "i use scripts to check how do i do in my battles and adapt my equipments for better performance" or "Im mage, and using spell spammer... DARN! it oesnt work!, F#$K i got killed"... If in any case the new update didnt have anything to do with those 2 (dont know, plans?) then No, it doesnt affect.

All well and good. I mean, I'm having 2nd thoughts on hea04, but my internal sense of right and wrong compels me to stick by my bid.
Of course, I'm not going to impose my ethics on anyone else. I don't mind if anyone wishes to opt out, I just think they shouldn't.

I think this solution is fine. With the balance changes for certain stats and difficulty scaling, I think it will take at least a month before people to figure out what builds/strats are better now. If they want to hold off on buying/selling this time around because of that I think it's fair to let them. A 24h extension should be plenty of time for people to decide if they want to stay committed to this auction.
