Tenboro said explicitly in another post to hang onto rare trophies until the next update. I'm not hunting it down though, so you'll have to take my word on it.

It was actually in the post where he announced the winners of the Yuletide Lottery and the Gallery awards....he said there that you might want to hold onto Tenbora's Boxes until next update.

I'm aware of that and I've seen both his posts regarding it. I'm just saying that there are more than one way to change how trophy works without having to use LotD.

I'm not being nit-picky, ever since TB made that announcement I knew that he was planning to implement something that affects trophies one way or the other.
My whole post was about LotD affecting trophies, not that trophies won't change. So if you take that part out, my post would have been pretty meaningless. =P

You earn much more exp on IW than grindfest.
You realize you're 31 levels above me right? It's 15million exp for my current level. I expect it's ~60million exp for you.

Don't we get the same exp from monsters regardless the level? Anyway it's +55 million.

I tried finding the graph for expected exp cost per level but couldn't. Meh.

Also, I don't do exquisites; the amount extra from doing that instead of something lesser isn't worth the increased difficulty.

I'm waiting until the next update in the desperate hopes that snowflake will take LoD into account. And that the rate of cotton and leather dropped will automatically decrease with level.

Then there's my fear that if Tenb does change snowflake, he'll just decrease the base loot value of the trophies and we'll have gotten nowhere (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

You know what I fear? What this really mean:

There will indeed be a number of balancing changes in the next patch, but they will only affect equipment generated after the patch. As it looks now, there will be 34 changes to 12 different gear classes.

Sounds a lot like 4.0., and since the monsters got nerfed...
So the possible improvement to snowflake can mean nothing, if the ranges are going to be nerfed again (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Thanks cmdct, I actually never read that post from TB before. I'm glad that he is trying to balance things though. What I fear is nerfing the already nerfed gear. pre-pre-nerf gear anyone? >.>

I can't 1shot Battletoads, or anything above Heroic. I don't have awesome equipment of amazingness.

@Hito: if the balancing does make it worse I'm just going to stop. The satisfaction and joy of finding amazing equipment is all that's really keeping me playing.

Superior Ethereal Something Rapier of the Nimble, from lvl140. Nothing since then. If I don't find something special by 250, or if the next update makes it worse, I'm stopping.

Well it didn't cross in my mind that you didn't had the exp tanks, exp perks, and you weren't playing BT.
Use/buy scrolls, they're cheap, but well worth the time saved and/or the increase in difficulty.

Yeah, I don't have any of the exp tanks. I have up to the 3rd EXP perk, I have the black, white, and rainbow auras etc. And again, dong an exquisite equip on battletoads kills me in like 4 turns. I can do crude on battletoads, and average for a little while, but it's only really good for building up my profs.
