The real question is, have you tried to compare damage taken versus damage given when you have either the dagger equiped or a shield for defense?

i was dual wielding my ethereal and another sword before, so damage taken doesn't even matter (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

damage dealt is a bit less tho

Just went in and cleared Dark Skies for the first time and all I have to show for it is a [Fine Gold-adorned Leather Helmet of Warding]. Man, that was a little rough, a real nail-biter. I'm gonna need more mana when I try it again tomorrow.

Well, here's some data that I've noticed in terms of the suffixes:

"of Focus" is most likely magic accuracy, since there are daggers that have that suffix with magic hit on em. "of the Cheetah" seems to be agility, which would make sense. "of the Nimble" seems to be parry chance, since other than an "of the Nimble" club I haven't run into any with parry, and "of Balance" seems to be melee hit chance, though I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Edit: "of the Ox" is pretty much strength, "of the Fox" seems to add Wis and Int, and "of Slaughter" is most likely physical damage, though that one's a bit hard to confirm.

Edit 2: Rabid Hamster dropped [Fine Silver-trimmed Cotton Robe of Protection] cakefest round 13, that makes 3 today.
