IME it's worth buying stuff that's well above your level because you can never guarantee to find something similar (and cheaper) at a lower level either in the shop or as a drop. Case in point: I bought a Sapphire Buckler way back when the shop first opened and have been using it ever since. I haven't had any kind of shield drop since then, and nothing I've seen in the shop has come close... until I saw an Exquisite Ruby model a few days ago and traded up.

I couldn't decide whether the stats were better or worse than the Fine Steel Plate Sabatons of the Fire-eater I already had, so I did a few rounds of Grindfest with each. The Platinum ones seemed to come out a little ahead, so off I went to the shop to sell the others... and immediately sold both pairs and bought some Fine Emerald Plate Sabatons of Protection instead. So I guess that was a lucky drop...

Believe me if you had full use of the stats ya then it would be pretty good, but you will find a staff that is around your lvl that will be just as good as that one, compared to the reduced stats of course.

And in 30 Levels, it will still be the same, and my Prism staff will be better. A 100 levels from now, I will probably still be using the Prism Staff, instead of having to buy replacement Staffs as they get weaker as my levels increase. Basically, I bought my next 3-4 (6?) staffs all at once by getting the Prism one, and probably saved a lot of Credits in the process.

strange didnt tenboro say there wouldnt be any excuisite and above that wouldnt have a proc?

Yes. Unless they were made before the change. But since this was just acquired, I'd think it would have a proc :\

Maybe you get Ethereal instead of a proc? If you think about it, an Ethereal weapon with a proc would be perhaps a little OP. I can only guess though, never having seen one with my own eyes.

Maybe you get Ethereal instead of a proc? If you think about it, an Ethereal weapon with a proc would be perhaps a little OP. I can only guess though, never having seen one with my own eyes.

I've seen ethereal weapons with proc too, but those are quite rare. They also seem to have lower stats than weapons of the same class and level.

I've got two eth weapons with procs.

and yes... they do seem to be lower in stats compared to similar non-eth weapons.
