Recently I recieved an average Steel Estoc of the Battlecaster which encouraged me to try a mage package (I can see why they can be effective but not so much at lower levels), soon replacing it with a pretty decent staff.

Now I've always been something of an iron-monger, so it is with some annoyance that I ask - WTF is an estoc, I can't find anything but a blind alley mention of it in any of my weapons books and I don't remember ever coming across it before this. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
