How long does it take for the cache to fill? I finally have what I feel is an internet connection stable enough to support H@H and set aside 25GB on my tertiary SSD. Two days later and it's using only about 140MB worth of space. Is this normal?

Next quest which has also probably been asked, but which I did not see specifically addressed on the wiki, is Hath transferred daily or at some other frequency? If daily, does it refresh with the dawn of a new day event or automatically?

It's pretty much every time H@H updates its activity to the head server.

Hath gain is tallied once per minute, but it's only written to the database (and made available for use) once every four hours. There are no set times, it's written if it's been more than four hours since the hath tally for your user was last committed.

Does the physical client location affect the static ranges? In the past I rsync cache while switching between different providers and it has worked out fine, however can I move to a different location altogether?

Since there is some kind of scheduler and load balancer then yes. But I'm confused by your other questions. What is the difference between doing rsync from one provider to another from moving H@H to a different physical location? I find that different providers normally are in different physical locations.

I have only moved h@h clients between providers ensuring the physical location of the server remains the same, eg. from one USA Dallas provider to another provider in Dallas and it has worked out fine. My question is, would it be okay to say to move a h@h client currently with a EU provider to somewhere in USA? Or simply, is the static ranges dependant on server location?

It takes location into account when assigning them, but it will still work if you move a client to another location.

How bad is it for the end users? I don't want to waste the time it takes to build up static ranges but if it negatively affects performance or end users in the long run I'm happy to rebuild from the beginning.

QUOTE(kyouri @ May 11 2017, 12:20) How bad is it for the end users? Probably negligible. If half of the H@H's would make such a move then it may impact something but one or two should be statistically irrelevant. Perhaps, you may actually make the browsing of someone better by speeding up more obscure stuff in his region.

I want to ask about using H@H Downloader. I used to do it in the old versions, getting the *.hathdl file and putting it in the H@H client. Since things have changed now, the H@H DL shows different resolutions I can choose which is helpful, and it's seems being queued now in the client and I find later it's completely downloaded.
I want to ask if there's an easier solution than clicking each gallery, clicking the Archive Download and choosing a resolution one by one whenever I want a few galleries downloaded.

You can make a script for that I think.

I don't really know much about browser scripts, but I want to ask if it is possible to do something in it like, putting a link to the gallery list which would directly open the pop-up archive downloader window of the said gallery. That would be something I'm looking for, since I can just hover over the list, and open the window where I can directly choose the resolution for h@h archiver whenever I see a cover I like.

It's unlikely to be programmed in so my previous statement stands. It should be doable with a bit of HTML/JS knowledge.

Updating from 1.2.5 to current build, is it normal to get to the "Cache cleanup pass.." line and then just be there for a really time with nothing visibly changing in the client's UI?

Alrighty, I'll check it again in an hour or two and come whine some more if it's still looks like it's hanging. Unless you would suggest some longer time frame to wait before checking back in. If it helps any, my cache size is 40 GB
edit: nevermind just got a 10% pass completion line, so it's probably going to be just fine
