Minimum bid increments:

• Start bid: 50k unless noted
• +30k if bid < 200k
• +50k if 200k <= bid < 2m and the item is not a [Mat]
• +3% for everything else
• A proxy bidder's last bid is exempt (1k minimum increment)

Solution: submit true max proxy bid before the end of the auction. That's the main reason I went to all the effort of coding the proxy bid system, after all; this is an international forum, so some users need the ability to compete over items even when they're not awake.

by the rule 4:
All posted bids should be in credits (or "Start" = starting bid) in multiples of 1k and must immediately follow the item code or codes. Codes must match what's displayed in the auction; 5 characters, no spaces. (capitalization, brackets, and dashes don't matter)

It gets rounded up to the nearest k. The auction variables are always in multiples of 1000, but users sometimes bid fractional amounts (so while the fractional part doesn't get added, it's still a dumb reason to disqualify bids over)
