QUOTE(Majala @ Oct 18 2016, 16:58) *

Now with Hentai@Home, I don't need to have any files sitting in an Hentai@Home folders right? Basically with the client, E-hentai distribute loads of the server to the users with clients as a form of cache correct? Now, when people browse E-hentai Galleries, the images loaded on the webpage will be browse from the cache in Hentai@Home clients. So just like bit-torrent the server will randomly choose which client to cache from right?

Now to lets say to uploads JPEG files to E-Hentai Galleries, you still need to go to the gallries-website and upload directly to the web server correct? It's not like people can get those JPEG files directly from Hentai@Home << Now that would need a bit-torrent correct?

It's not entirely like Bittorrent, since the dispatch mechanism and origin servers are both centralized, and you don't need to run H@H to get images from it. The site only uses the H@H network as a caching layer, you can't upload images to it directly.

QUOTE(Majala @ Oct 18 2016, 16:58) *

Also one last note, My Trust number kept increasing (Now it's like 1000), is it supposed to go down and be maintained at "0" ?

1000 is optimal.

Thanks Tenboro, That answers my questions.

Finally got it to run. I miss the speed meter in the GUI.
Why did you remove that? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Because it was dumb and misleading and I never liked it.

But primarily because, for the releases where the GUI was fixed-size, it allowed for a bigger graph. And I never put it back in for the reasons above.

My client seems to have timed out sometime last night. After restarting it, I'm now stuck at -100 trust with no signs of it moving in either direction. Any idea what the cause of this might be?

Naturally as soon as I post, the trust changes. I'll sit on it for a few hours and see if I can get back to positive trust.

I've seen that the client now is fetching files from original image servers instead of other h@h clients. Is this counted in image limits?
If not, how does the server identify if the request is from a h@h client?

sorry for how long i taked. i had to make a server so i can test the code. that taked a long time.

Tenboro: i tested the startup with new files and v.3.0.1 with my changes. both start at same speed until speed test but v3.0.1 with my changes is less complex with extra files. what do you need from the code i showed to change?

Hi,

Not sure if this was overlooked but the H@H settings page is still listing the latest version as 1.2.6
https://e-hentai.org/hentaiathome.php

Might need an update (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

First post of the thread.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 1 2016, 11:17) *

The 1.3 branch should be considered experimental/unstable and has a lot of new and rewritten code. If you are not comfortable with this, please stick with 1.2.6 for now.

Ever since I switched to 1.3.3, my "quality" and "trust" have been hanging around 900/6000-7000 . Normally I have both maxxed ( 1000/10000). Any idea so as to why?

At this point, the average quality of 1.3 clients is about 150 points above the 1.2 clients, so it's probably not related.

What code are you referring to? I assume it's the cache thing, but I don't think I've seen a 1.3.3-compatible one.

1.4.0 is already locked down as 1.3.3 with two minor bugfixes, mostly due to time constraints on testing, but if it's minor it might still be added in a later point release when I get the time for it.

you can remove the new files to make less complex? it is more easy to work with not those extra files.
i will see what more does not work in 1.3.3 for the change i mean.
