Wouldn't it be nice if we could avoid stepping on each others toes? I'm not sure if this was tried before, but the goal here is to keep people from translating or editing the same thing. Nowadays translators are posting scripts up for grabs and editors are snatching them up without notice. It's not that easy to keep up with all the scanlation groups out there and what their doing or releasing next, so if they could post here that would be GREAT. Even those not affiliated with a group can help. Say you're about to get something translated, post it here, if someone knows a certain group is already on or about to do that, they can say "Hey.." and we'll avoid time, effort or worst case scenario, money being wasted. That happened a few months ago in a gallery's comment section where I randomly said I was editing Package Meat 4.5. Someone who was about to commission that to SaHa read it and commissioned something else instead, so rather than having two translations for one thing, we got two things translated.

Maybe not all that much. If Person A says they're going to do it, but they have a lackluster skill set, Person B would probably think they could do better and just do it, or Person C is probably a slow (yet skilled) bastard like me and another group will just do it because they feel like it.

A suggestion for this thread would be to change the theme to announcing releases. Since some people don't have a dedicated thread for their works or just want more attention to it, it can just be like "Hey, I put this in the galleries!" and leave it at that. And you could even keep an eye on the thread and sort them on general categories like manga or doujinshi and so on to keep it interesting.

Also, kudos for doing that Hana Hook story.

This is an attempt to make an index of 'in-progress' rather than a 'already done' projects. A project isn't really a project anymore when it's complete. So regardless of anyone's skill level or speed it would still be useful to know what's being worked on. If Person B ninjas Person A, oh well, nothing we can do but at least we tried. However if Person B decides to be more courteous to Person A they can say "I'll do that if you'd rather do something else" etc.

Also, I'm sure a lot of people think "I hope no one else is doing this" when they take on a project. This should help alleviate that anxiety.

Good idea but it won't work because not everyone frequents the e-hentai forums, let alone this sub-forum. The projects I'm currently working on are always listed in my signature ↓ (I started doing this back in November '13 in an attempt to prevent possible collisions) and even then I still got sniped pretty recently, which put a huge dent in my motivation.

That's where the unaffiliated people come in. If someone sees you working on something and they know somebody else is already doing it, they can let you know. Or let them know, and vice versa. This forum might not be frequented by many but e-hentai is the essential hub where everything winds up. So if such an index would be anywhere it should be here. In other words, we can at least try.

I'm relatively new at editing so I don't have many projects lined up. But here goes,

I don't think I can update my EHCOVE projects here regularly, but it's relatively easy to see what we are working on from the list of accepted TL bounties + editing bounties (which are posted as soon as the proofreading is done).
