I already saw my friend screenshot, he cleared GF with DW+5slaughter using FRD strategy. I think he can survive maybe because his high parry pmi/mmi stats.

For mages you try to reach a threshold of offense to make up for your low defense. Though since the resist changes long ago, its really difficult to do so.

1H + shield is so popular because of good offense and the best defense.
