Who uses H@H at what point begins a free download any archives? Slightly did not understand the system, help to understand.

Will Galleryinfo.txt files be coming back? They were what I used to sort the archives into folders via a script.

For anyone else that was mildly confused, if you had your preferences set to auto-download after pushing the button, the upgrade changed the setting to autoselect the original archive, then manually download the link.
People trying to automate this might want to look at the options in My Settings, under Archiver Settings. Also note that Ex has its own My Settings page separate from EH.

Some more improvements; - The archiver is now also able to estimate the size of resampled archives, using the actual size of the files it would use if it's already generated and a rough estimate based on the original file if not. - The cost for resample downloads is now based on the resample size estimate instead of being a fixed fraction of the original cost. In many cases, this means resample archives will be far cheaper than the original ones. QUOTE(Chunga @ Aug 6 2016, 02:49) Maybe I misunderstanding something, but are the H@H Archiver Quotas only for downloading using the resampled option?
I'm still spending GP when I download any archive using the original resolution option.
Missed this one. You can use them for both, but like before, some galleries (older than 30 days and not downloaded in 30 days) aren't eligible. QUOTE(G Just G @ Aug 7 2016, 13:38) Will Galleryinfo.txt files be coming back? They were what I used to sort the archives into folders via a script.
It wouldn't be possible to add those to the archives without constantly remaking them, but you should be able to get the same info from the API.

Thanks, is there a place where we can keep track of our quota for the people who has auto-accept enabled?

I'm always amused at how this site does things better than professional non=hentai sites. The e-hentai gallery-like system could help many bussinesses, but they're not l33t enough (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

My only confusion is that the Downloader was disabled before the H@H Client was updated to use this archiver system (at least in the way I use it for.) So in the mean time, how can we add new complete releases without having the proxy running to auto-cache the loaded image? (old system, we could use the downloader to guarantee import and hosting for ALL images of a release instead of just what H@H calls for via proxy.... what can we do instead?) Another thing is, where do we find our weekly quota?
Don't get me wrong, this new system optimizes the H@H Clients in the wild GREATLY, but certain useful features of the Downloader are either missing or undocumented.

That's kinda lame, I've probably used the downloader as much for old as hell stuff I just noticed (artist I just found and the like) as I have new stuff. But I guess I have umpteen GP I wasn't spending so maybe I won't notice.

play HV dude. GP is super cheap and very easy when you reach lv 300+ and we are wasting credits to buy equipment and upgrades here. --------- btw isnt the 1 GB / day cap for GS too small ? system before I can download 20 archive / day. mostly big archive. above 200 MB. = above 4 GB / day. with the new system I can only download 4-5 archive / day. Like it says in the MFP section, it was based on the average archive size which is 50.06 MB. Though looking at the numbers, it's very likely that I'll bump it up at least it the point where Catgirl matches a high-traffic H@H server, which would bring the other tiers up a bit as well.

Tenb, once upon a time I did some image stats on my H@H cache. And got a [ github.com] mean size for resampled images. Excerpt CODE 70 199625 71 202616 72 204896 73 208552 74 213381 75 214453 76 217722 77 222400 78 226356 79 228988 80 233931 81 239043 82 243113 83 249118 84 253833 85 258444 86 266378 87 271882 88 279229 89 285710 90 295918 The left column is JPEG quality, the right is in bytes. Since resampled archives are only available for galleries where more than 25% of files is resampled, i'd argue that: CODE <number of files> * 233KB is a decent estimate of archive size. It is an educated guess (I did not do the stats for this argument) but i'd say that that estimate would be within the 2nd and 3rd quantile (out of 4, against the actual size) in >90% of cases. QUOTE(blue penguin @ Aug 8 2016, 18:26) Tenb, once upon a time I did some image stats on my H@H cache. And got a [ github.com] mean size for resampled images. Well, I analyzed all the 1280x resamples the site has done since the new resample system was added, and the vast majority of files were sitting at between 0.17 and 0.19 bytes per pixel, so that's what we're using. (I believe the exact average for all of them was 0.1795 bytes/pixel). Then again, this doesn't have to be super accurate, since it uses the exact size of all files that have already been generated. Which means that as soon as someone has downloaded a resample archive or viewed the entire gallery once, it'll be exact.

What happens to the galleries whose hathdls we've added just before the change? I'm guessing they're no longer going to be downloaded?

Eh, I'll see how far the 30 million gp I have piled up last. I have zero concept of their actual use since I've been using the downloader exclusively for the last 3 years. I just wish the archiver was half as convenient to use as the downloader 3 clicks and a popup window replaced 1 click. This post has been edited by dis astranagant: Aug 9 2016, 08:29

Cool. Now @TenB, please answer this question: QUOTE(Fudo Masamune @ Aug 6 2016, 03:42) So.. Is there any way to see the remaining quota I have at a moment?

Assuming you don't have a ton of them piled up, they'll finish before I disable the H@H C&C part of it. Which will probably happen in a few days. QUOTE(tetron @ Aug 9 2016, 12:42) So.. Is there any way to see the remaining quota I have at a moment?
No.

How can I use the API to create the galleryinfo.txt file? I read the wiki but I don't know how can I make that file with the calls to the API. I'm not that good with programming.
