"If you mistype, you can edit your post to invalidate your bid if you have not revealed a proxy bid" Sadly with how system is now its still possible to reveal someones max proxy bid almost without any risk as long as its more than one min bid away from winning bid, so tbh i don't see why this rule still there.

kangaeruthing is doing the same thing again in this current auction. As his actions break the rule "If you mistype, you can edit your post to invalidate your bid if you have not revealed a proxy bid" I request that he not be allowed to bid anymore on this item.
#32 kangaeruthing bid on One01 for 70000k, but canceled the bid in #34 #31 kangaeruthing bid on One01 for 50000k, but canceled the bid in #34 #26 kangaeruthing bid on One01 for 40000k, but canceled the bid in #34 #25 kangaeruthing bid on One01 for 35000k, but canceled the bid in #34 #24 kangaeruthing bid on One01 for 30000k, but canceled the bid in #34 #4 kangaeruthing bid on One01 for 20000k, but canceled the bid in #34

No, its not the same thing. Previousely he followed cancel with a valid bid, so he basically revealed the proxy max and bid higher than that, so he doesn't have to write 100 posts to bid in small increments, or commit to a higher proxy. This time he didn't bid afterwards, but then he still has time to do so. This post has been edited by quitetanky: Apr 4 2018, 21:39

I'm not sure that's ethical either, maybe superlatanium will let us know his feelings on that.
Presuming that behavior is ethical though, he should place his real bid immediately afterward, so his time is up and he has broken the rules, in my view. Also, if your description is really his intention, then his first bid should be 1 billion credits and he cancels that one and immediately places a real bid. That saves the most space.
In either case, I shouldn't be expected to follow that previous auction, so I wouldn't know about what you said. I just read what was written in this thread and the current auction.

he needs a bidkey. Since you can't cancel once you've revealed a proxy bid then I see no reason for not using it. I agree with quitetanky, I don't think this is enough to be banned =)

I only requested that he officially not be allowed to bid anymore on this one particular item. It will help clear the path for it to be sold successfully at its natural value. Don't want to see another special private auction like last year. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Now kangaeruthing has placed a proxy bid, but it seems to be retroactive to the time of his canceled regular bids. So unless he has time travel powers I'm guessing superlatanium did that for him? Or is that just how the proxy bid system works?
I still think it is a better idea to simply not let him bid on this item, as now there is the threat of a non-paying bidder interfering with the bids. There is always that possibility but it's greater now because he has already broken the rules.

I held the bid before I sleep, but notice lose it for 9 hours instead, was that a new type of sniper? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) And i guess my proxy bid was revealed already by another one bid 60m, does the "don't reveal proxy" rule still apply after it?

QUOTE(Mantra64 @ Mar 24 2018, 11:12) what about kangaeruthing?
he also revealed my proxy bid, and then cancelled his own afterwards, or not? He continued to bid higher than that later (and if he had placed the highest bid and won (or placed the highest bid and canceled later), he would have been on the hook for paying for it), so while that was bad, I didn't consider it to be too bad. But that wasn't the first time, and now it's happened yet again this week, I think it's time to revoke his standard bidding privileges. I inserted an uncancelable proxy bid for him at the time he bid 70m. Think carefully before you submit a bid; auctions last 3 days, there's no need to rush. If kangaeruthing wishes to bid in the future, he is free to request a bidkey.

QUOTE(Superlatanium @ Apr 6 2018, 03:33) I accidentally combined 6 equips (one from a different seller) instead of 5 in the 5-in-1 - the other seller's equip is now Hea20. If this is a problem, feel free to cancel.
Err.. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) i'm sorry, if i misunderstanding thisFor me (the current winning bidder at this moment) it's fine. I don't want to cancel it... Just ban abusive players from your auctions. You have no reasons to give them extra chances. A player keeping his bid after trying to reveal a proxy bid doesn't cancel the fact that he's been abusing the system. He only kept his bid because he considered that it was still worth bidding that much, otherwise he'd just have canceled.
If I had to give you an advice, it'd be to stop being nice for no reason. Learn to give the stick just as well as giving the carrot.

Wow Petal_Kiss came in for a whopping 98m at the end, which isn't uncommon for him, so all questions of non-paying bidders were irrelevant anyway.
And everyone else can thank Petal_Kiss for their -14.2% discount. Maybe this should be a strategy of the future. When you see a great item for auction, assume Petal_Kiss will win it, and bid on other items hoping for discount.

why have those high taxes been introduced anyways? isnt that the most fun about a auction ? fighting until the last second? I cannot understand this penalty system now

people try to snipe at the last minute, this is annoying to some especially since not everybody can be at that time

Because not everyone can be online in last hour of auction, which is what snipers take advantage of. They put a bid too late and hope that other person who could and would outbid them just isn't around/is too slow to do so. Everyone else loses: buyer that would pay more but couldn't respond in time doesn't get an item, while seller doesn't get the max price. This is sortof mitigated by the proxy bid, but some people (myself including) still put proxies low and take time to decide whether they want to increase those later, which wasn't possible now that the site was down.

well well, but now take a look at the opening time of the auction, it is exactly the same thing.. everyone who can be online at such a working hour ( 4pm my time ) where most people are at work, can easily snatch away all materials with a instant high bid, which the next bidder cannot overtrump since he would go over the market price of that material.
so there should also be a solution for this then?
