Actually, he doesn't lose anything in discounts.

Actually, I have been, ever since this started some months ago: item sellers get all the fee revenue, and the discounts come from my pocket. I set it up like that initially to make it clear I wasn't setting it up for the purposes of making a profit.

But I think I've done that long enough, and I'll make the system self-sustaining from now on so I'm not losing money to it every week.

I totally thought wrong then, sorry.
I thought every seller got what was bidded on it without taking discount or fees into consideration, but buyers paid taking them into consideration, so everything is balanced in the end and transparent for sellers without any problem.
You take the same amount anyway in the end like this, how would it be for the purposes of making a profit? I don't understand...

Oh, I haven't followed the discussion for a while, I was just curious how's the difference between discounts and penalties now.
I support it fully, regardless of how you will adjust the numbers, as the purpose of the system is to make overall experience better for bidders. Even though sellers might think of additional revenue as a reduction of auction fees instead of you losing money, there nothing that they contribute for the system, so selling side shouldn't be entitled to any benefits.


Btw can I throw a powerarmor chest I bought earlier back for reauctioning because I got something better closer to my level instead? I want to bump the price because I paid for itemworlding it and it has juggernaut now. If you don't want it to become a practice, i'll just keep it in my shop.

You revealed a proxy bid: don't ever do this. See the rules:

If you mistype, you can edit your post to invalidate your bid if you have not revealed a proxy bid

and the edit log, which exists for exactly this reason:

But you didn't mistype - it was deliberate. Bidding so you can check someone's proxy bid and then canceling in case you start winning is very unfair to the other guy. Multiple people have complained about this sort of thing in the past (for good reason), so I am going to hold you to your original bid.

Exact same thing here.

Players who reveal a proxy bid and then cancel will remain on the hook for whatever amount they bid - it wouldn't be fair otherwise.
