What I don't like (and don't understand) is why auctions (even your "for low lvl") are only focusing on 50k+ equip.

I'd like soo much (and I doubt to be the only one) to see an auction with a few plain (but still usable in 150-250 lv) equip starting from 5k with bid increment steps of say 2k (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Not really true, even in current auction there are a lot of <50k equips, for the rest there are shops (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

There initially was more Exq equips, there even were some Superior Power of Slaughter in the beginning, but when you're overflowing with Mag+ equips and no one bids on the Exq equips...
Really, I didn't want to deal with Mag and Leg stuff when I started the auctions, same goes for the WTB, but the market evolved since then.

I had the privilege of witnessing that progressive shift from very close. Just check the posts in the WTB: initially it was exclusively Sup and Exq stuff, then there was one Mag, then two, three, more and more. And then came the first Leg, then another, then more and more. To the point of seeing almost exclusively Mags at some point.

All this has only one explanation: the update 0.85, which made a huge change in how monster HP is calculated. Before that update, PFUDOR monsters were horrible HP tanks that could take dozens of hits to kill a single one, when you're low level. So it was practically impossible to play PFUDOR around Level 300. As soon as that update came, PFUDOR became much easier for low level players. So it's only natural that tons of Mags and Legs started to pop up, and it will continue from now on.
Furthermore, that change also means that low level players levelup faster, which makes them less likely to visit the forums early on in their progress.

All this to tell you: things aren't going to get any better any time soon, and we can fairly expect Exquisites to be completely useless and outclassed in a short span. And unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it.

Oh yes it's the same for Cotton. It's just that I filter them before they enter the auctions, just like everything. But then shields, staffs and 2H weapons drops less often than armor or 1H weapons.

I guess what might be interesting is if the old HP formula were still around for us to look at and compare. Not sure if the current formula was updated fully (I think it was) or if the old formula used to be written correctly.

The formula hasn't changed. It's just that the difficulty_mod was reduced significantly, to be shifted toward the "10" factor for the level.
