Spirit Shield generally won't turn off but what is more likely to be a problem if you are stingy with your SP, is when you have both SS and SoL up, and SS suddenly knocks down your spirit to the point where SoL deactivates, and you die.

Why not? Scrolls are
  • dope
  • don't cost mana
  • don't cost turns (but you still lose oc)
  • don't sell for much
I don't use them regularly, if that's what you mean. Protection makes a difference if there are no points in Better Protection. Haste makes procs last an extra turn and cuts down enemy actions per turn. Shadows is placebo. Everyone should use Absorbtion and Life, but everyone hates absorb and life scrolls shouldn't be seeing any use unless something went TERRIBLY wrong.
I also refuse to sell crude and fine/old gear so make what you will of it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Don't you proc spark on purpose to maximise heals? That's what people used to say. "Only use full cure when health is below 10%."

You shouldn't need any of those, besides protection, until it's maxed.
Then you can put Protection, Spark and Spirit Shield on IA and forget they exist (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
The MP cost of any spell other than Regen or Heartseeker is nothing compared to having to click buttons to restore scrolls/spells...this is mage stuff.
Melee just casts Regen and Heartseeker then swipes the field indefinitely.

(I'm talking about 1h of course)

Also...MP cost?

Scrolls:
- have to be cast every 100/200 turns
- cost credits
- melee's mana draughts and potions balance is positive no matter how many spells you cast

Why should you waste scrolls instead of selling them in bulk? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

In my forum ignore list. I won't even play your game because you're not worth it. I always win at it anyway, that's not funny.

1h doesn't need anything so that's definitely a waste there.

I guess no one NEEDS scrolls outside of grindfest (from what I've heard), but why sell when you can use them and play risky? Let em hit me. No time to cast? Use scrolls. Taking hits for extra oc is faster than turtling it out. For 2h anyway. With dw I have scrolls set but now that I think about it, I never used any with it. My 2h doesn't have the power to go skill-less on IW yet, so it's back to dovahkiin.

I've always liked Absorb, but except at very beginner levels it's not that useful. I still cast it on occasion mostly when I am trying to trigger Channeling to recast Heartseeker or Regen.

At level 22, while technically you are very poor, I am not sure money really has meaning to person of such low level. Perhaps this is just my opinion, but equipment quality only starts to matter to people around level 150~200, and money around level 250~300.

When I was level 200 I had a rapier, and people offered me credits for it, but I only thought "what is credits, what is this for? Why do I need credits and what can I buy with this?"

You start to need something beyong Average quality around lvl100. So you're already starting to wonder how to get Superior at that point, and with it comes Bazaar and credits.

I'm poor too, after all I was your level just three months ago ! So I don't have much to give you, also because I have spent all, earnings and gifts (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I should take a course in financial administration (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

But if you are happy with some poor gift, may be I can help you. PM me what you need, I have spare equips and weapons and some materials. No credits though, already used all, sorry (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

EDIT : BTW, some of those I bought from Deco over here when I was just a bit over yr lvl, but it was an endsummer shop-cleaning sell away specially discounted. Now Deco is way more dear (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (Sorry Deco, but it's true). You better think before buying equip, at yr lvl you will go up very fast just by playing a bit every other day, so you risk sinking your meagre resources in equipments that you'll use just a few days. I tell you 'cause I know from bitter experience.

Been there, done that (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

This level 452 Legendary Arctic Rapier of Slaughter is the only thing I ever bought from the bazaar and I got laughed at for doing so.

When I was level 100 I had plenty of Superior and Exquisite gear, and when I was level 150 I had almost entirely Magnificent gear, all from self drops. Maybe I was lucky, but if you push yourself on difficulty I think most players these days would be the same (for me that was still pre-0.85 so things were much harder).

Well, I don't know what it was like pre-0.85b obviously, but my experience going from 0 to (now) 192 has been very different. Obviously in part because of a different approach to the game (I don't want to gain EXP and level up too fast, so I raise difficulty only for Arenas, doing instead REs almost always at easiest level just for farming fragments).

Most players furthermore, I think, adopt a fighting style early and mostly stick with it for a long while; that means a restricted need of equipment (only the kind fitting the style). But I change every 1/2 lvl between 5 different combinations of personas/armours sets/styles, so I need to cover almost all the gamut of equips.

So in general, I think there is (or can be) huge differences in experiences and relative requirements, and one should refrain from generalize from just his own experience, imho.

Happy New Year (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
