I don't suppose there is a typical "bounty" for the kind of editing I do? Grammar, spelling, word choice, that sort of thing?

It's proofreading and generally people don't get paid much for it if at all.

if you want to save a few credits, convert them to GP first.

afaik you'll need a credit card for japanese sites or something like that (i know a couple of guys who may explain it way better than me, just in case).

If it is the latter, it's something I may have to look into doing. I can turn something badly translated into something that native English speakers would read. But if it is the former and basically just a bunch of busy-work adjusting how things look, then i'm not interested.

For those bounties, I copy and paste preexisting translations onto the document. In the process, I edit the text if I think it would improve it, whether they ask or not, just because I refuse to end up with a shitty product.

To be fair, I did pay lololo16 7 million for proofreading. But that was proofreading against the Japanese on a 20 mil bounty.

You have no idea how unpleasant it is for me every time I create a banner / meme with PhotoShop...
It's really because the result will be cool and nto take too much time that I do it.

To be honest, you remind me of when I was around thirteen or so. It's actually a lot easier than you might think it to be. Maybe team up with a Japanese speaker whose English isn't so great.

Ah, I know this feeling well. I kind of do some design work with CAD and related programs, that also involves calculations and things (trying deliberately to be vague here). But I cannot stand this work. It is pukey because I lean towards number crunching and calculations, or coming up with theoretical ideas. Actually being forced to draw crap, is not what I went to school for.

On the other hand, I do not mind drawing when there are no calculations related to it. Therefore I could probably do image editing for bounties if it is just erasing text in bubbles and such. Maybe I would do them someday, but I doubt it. I have zero artistic talent for drawing things, so in some idealistic sense I feel unworthy to edit images.

I could probably draw girls if I tried, but I do not want to find out because if I draw well I would probably draw too much hentais and waste my time.

That last idea by Himmelreich could actually work for me, too. I can read Japanese and Chinese a bit. Not enough that I'd want to translate something. But teaming up, I could. And probably easier with hentai dialogue. On the other hand if I do it too much, my Japanese could improve, and then I fear people may detect me using hentai words or speaking like a hentai person. However this is all just too much work. If I really need credits, it probably makes more sense for me to throw real money at this game, but it feels evil and I'm trying to fight the inner darkness.
