Just to make it clear. I am against that thread as it is (per ce), but I am double approve other thread that would help other players in credit/resource/income sense. For example, Uncle, your data about how many credits one can receive per arena would be very in place in that thread and would help player (both new and old) to optimise their arena runs and estimate their approx income in day.
Damn, the talk about are drop trainings are worthy to invest can take few pages in such thread, IMHO, all maxed drop trainings (all but last archeologist) gave me nothing, but I wasted so much credits, I could buy GoldStar (or two?) with and that would be WAY better.

But doing something like that is IMO allready covered by the experts thread. They have just to ask, and i and all those other players will gladly help with hints and suggestions and stuff. They just have to ask. I had my time thing about all of this case. And as the person with the third most in this topic, i must, with a heavy heart, agree. Now as it is, there no real purpose of the club, over all the time the "club" existed, most of the "members" own a GS or even more. Back in the days that was different, when i came here for the first time i was not the only one who felt and was poor. It was a crutch and some sort of safe place, and i will still miss it when it will be gone. But also with a heavy heart, i just cant call me still a poor player with a clear conscience. The "club" did encourage to reach my goal no longer to be poor but to be rich. And yeah, i guess i did it. I reached my goal, and the "club" did his part in it. But does it this anylonger to any other player who comes here with no star, no awards, with a low level and nearly no income? Somehow i doubt this. I really do. Well, that is what uncle had to say about the club. Farewell poor players club, you will never be forgotten.

I read all the posts in these last days, and the list of purposes that LOL50015 come up with was a commendable attempt to match YOUR expectations in order to keep the thread open. But as i wrote previously, that seems not what the thread users were expecting from this thread; it would have changed it in just another technical thread ("talking on equations" as another user put it). I think that would have killed it (or at least changed its user community).

Yes. This is exactly the problem. The user base in general chat is quite different. It is a different community to the HV community.
This is why, for the health of the HV community, we need some threads that are for the general chat of the HV community.
Taking this away, in my opinion, will detract from the personality of the HV community.

A club is a club, to get relaxed and enjoy. That doesn't mean there can't be serious discussions or some purpose to fulfill, but they shouldn't be mandatory nor absolute, rather spontaneously coming to existence from the interactions between the members and then dying after having run their course.

More like a place for some friendly jokes and a bit of philosophical discussions here and there, with some intersperse occasional other kind of activity (like e.g. those in LOL list and others too), imho.

You progress and build up, gain more, spend more, then gain more. But once you get to the high-mage level you oneshot rounds and you can't go faster than that.
You can only invest in stuff such as reselling (that will make you hated) or by donating more, or by scanning/translating/editing hentai, or by using up your bandwidth/buying more bandwidth to get hath and gp.

Nothing is free out of normal play.

First off, I am a charter member of this club.
I was involved in the conversation when you guys were first discussing it in another thread.
I was a poor player then.

And I immediately came to the thread as poor when it first opened.

I didn't get the memo that I'm no longer a member and now part of the evil "them" class.
And if someone sends me a memo stating this, I will promptly ignore it.
I "am" a charter member of this thread regardless of how much is flowing my way.

And speaking of "flow", that is the basis of the economy on this site.
