QUOTE(nec1986 @ Apr 27 2017, 18:59) 100mbit cost ~5$/month. We're talking about data, right? Not speed (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

But you probably have higher average salary. It usually depends how much ppl earn, so every company milk that all (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE(svvarg @ Apr 27 2017, 20:24) Give me your pizza right now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) gross. with 40% taxes if you're lucky. which would mean 1600$. seems still quite high to me since the average is closer to 1000~1200(*) as juggy santa, but at least it's a bit more real. (*) edit: oh, of course when you take out expenses for going to work, the house, mere living etc etc... better to remove that 1, i guess (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Scremaz: Apr 27 2017, 20:32

QUOTE(svvarg @ Apr 27 2017, 20:57) For average russian citizen this is very big money.
Still, I don't think your average wage is 5 times less than ours to justify that cheap internet (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) This post has been edited by End Of All Hope: Apr 27 2017, 21:44

QUOTE(End Of All Hope @ Apr 27 2017, 12:44) Still, I don't think your average wage is 5 times less than ours to justify that cheap internet (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) The concern with average wages in places like Russia and the U.S. is the immense size of the countries. It just gets too diverse on what people make. My Salary in New York or I would assume Moscow would put me on Government support. I couldn't afford a 600 square foot studio in New York. But if I could keep my Salary and move to someplace South of Crowley Texas, I'd be living on 10 Acres with a live in maid. (I would name her Tiffani, and dress her up and stuff.. and in return, she would poison my food. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) ) If I could move to the Philippines and keep my salary, oh my gosh!! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But I digress. "The man", or whoever that person may be.. has assured we are all fairly broke, no matter where we are or how much we make. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Sometimes its also possibly to get 1000 mbit for 10-50$, but its actually quite rare type for home provider, and im not even sure we need that. Even 4k video is probably lower than 150 mbit/sec, right? So i think such stuff is quite cheap here, for example, my mobile operator has pack with 30gb web, 1500 call minutes for 14$ and moreover its on good conditions. Non tariffable apps like whats up or calls between same operator, summup with rest from prev month and even if you spend whole web traffic then you can buy additional or use free with reduced speed. I dont need so much, so im using cheaper version. Actually after i think about that, maybe 45 minutes isnt so much, tho i has to pay for whole pack anyway.
But stuff like real estate is rly expensive here. I know its expensive everywhere, but 1-room flat with 40m2 cost here from 10 years average salary up to 40 years in center (ordinary, not something elite which is basically almost unlimited in price). Even if we speak about low edge, then ppl spend money on food and other stuff, so 10 years becomes 20-30 without any problem. Basically, whole life for 1room flat at outer side of city.

well, personally i have 8Mbps or so (or so this is what speedtest says, with 4 downloads open) in download and i'm quite fine. upload is quite crappy (0.41Mbps), but whatever. i'd only prefer to be treated a bit more like a 20+ year customer should deserve, but seems that the company prefers to give hyperdiscounts to new clients and finance them by ripping old clients for the same service. i cannot find any other reason for a 20/45€ (monthly) spread (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
