Well I agreed with cbn's estimate on that shield of below 100k, which is more reasonable for something of that quality. It needed better stats to be more.
QUOTE(Juggernaut Santa @ End Of All Hope)

Low level stuff is more valuable, because low levels don't have access to higher level stuff.
And at the same time, low level stuff isn't and shouldn't be more expensive, because low levels don't have the same access to money higher levels have.
More valuable + less budget in proportion = no real price change necessary
That is a really interesting way of looking at things and I had to ponder about it a while. Perhaps a better way to describe price variance is to say that mediocre high level equipment rapidly
deflates (to crap) because once something is worse than what everyone of that level has, it's useless.
Then the low level equipment doesn't really inflate in price, but rather assumes a natural cost based on actual usefulness. This natural cost should not increase without limit because there are other ways to spend or save your money (training, perks). These days legendary drops at level 250~350 are more common due to the balance changes made in last year's patch, so the price of low level equipment should also be slowly dropping.
Useful legendary drops near level 200 may still blow up in price just due to being so rare, in that case the law of supply/demand trumps considerations of practicality. After all, no training completely duplicates the effect of better gear, and there do exist a few rich low level players who have credits from other sources in this world.
