(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Is elementalist useful for elemental mages? I don't think anyone would need so many profs since imperil style only needs 0.65 factor..shoes are enough, why trade damage for unnecessary profs. It's practically useless in my opinion.

One could try playing 5 phases style with this. Makes this a very very interesting item. I should do the math, but I am on mobile atm. I'll calculate the possible prof factor with this staff only, and if it's near 0.65, this could be the best staff ever.

assuming 442 base prof, factor is:
0.53 without perk and with 5 forge level
0.63 with the perk and with 5 forge level.
0.61 without perk and with 25 forge levels.

That was the issue I was talking about. I assume a elementalist suffix, after full forging offers too many profs that would put you over 0.65. So you are trading so much MDB in exchange of excessive profs and extra EDB of your shoes that do little extra. Also for imperil elementals, which most people are playing, staff is only source for MDB. Too much MDB loss trading for the EDB of shoes should lower your total damage, according to the part of the equation (1+mdb)*(1+edb). Unless you play non-imperil....That's just my assumption, from my understanding. No calculation yet.


Edit: OK. I did some calculation. So we put 217.26 at lv442--->rescale to lv500. I assume the player to be lv500, and prof 550 with perk(fairly low for a lv500 player right..). We got 92 exceeding....0.86prof factor.....yea. How about 600prof(theoretically maximum), now we are at 0.97. So it may be useful for non-imperil, but never imperil style.

okay I get it. But this would allow you to play with radiant shoes, which would give some MDB back. A bit overkill, but still interesting when you don't have 600 proficiency. That makes this a valuable staff, I'd say.

i would pay that much and more for a peerless kite shield, but only if it was SDE/reinforced/dampening
