... shops, which are notoriously a valid mirror of HV economy and nobody would ever think about putting their own tag prices... not specifically meant to friggo, btw. he has a peerless and tries to earn a penny out of that. also, i remind you that Cold mages don't have many choices. Elec ones have one (two?) more

You're right, I prefer a recent-Auction-Price, but not a WTB/WTC/here one. If People trust a WTS Price, then I can set a useless Peerless with 100M in my WTS, and a Week later I send this Equipment to you for free and strikethrough it in my WTS, but say to other People: "I've sold it to Scremaz for 100M."

but not only. even assuming all the best intentions from the seller and a fair trade, WTS prices aren't usually dictated from an actual need. except for items, which are less or more standardized and however available in so high amounts that we can say they reached sort of a stable price. some periodic fluctuations due to law of demand and offer and some prices slightly higher in shops where you can find bigger amounts, but still... equips are completely different: apart for not being standard at all, nobody knows how to fairly price them - so you can see at times people put a tag price, and we know this is good if the item goes away immediately. if not, the item will stay there, waiting for the market to see it. there's even the chance some sellers put a tag price equal (or even higher) than what was reached on a bidwar, which is quite unreasonable (even not logic at all if you need credits imho). last but not the least, a big chunk of business is currently done via auctions (which becomes very big if you consider they are only 2~3 threads/week). therefore, i wouldn't be surprised if auction prices were taken into higher regards only because people can immediately see good items at a glimpse, without even the need to actively look for them...

Yes, I think you're right. Almost all Equipments but the Peerless ones are unique.
