My first Peerless drop. Is it worth anything? [343] Peerless Amber Shade Leggings of the Fleet - 291769422/808ea763b0 Apparently, I can't have links in my first post or maybe I am doing it wrong, so I just copied item's code above. Also I have a question about salvaging gear into cores. I had a quick look in wiki and HV 0.89 and 0.90 update topics, and as far as I can tell there is no use for cores right now and Peerless ones can't even be traded. So there is no point salvaging it? At least there is no immediate gain. Legendary cores I do sell, but I don't know why people are buying them and how the price is established.

QUOTE(justreadin @ Oct 15 2023, 23:58) Is this Magnificent Charged Phase Gloves of Niflheim sellable/usable despite not being legendary? Certainly usable, and it's at a level that most people start switching to mage. My guess would be in the range of 50k-200k.

Hello, I don't know if I am allowed to post ISK related topics here, but I had a low level but bad-stat peerless weapon drop: Peerless Arctic Rapier of the Illithid (lvl 199) Although somewhat better than my current bad-stat magnificent ISK weapon, I don't exactly want it myself since I can't afford to soulfuse it, and no one so far has responded to my WTS offer. (It's been less than a day, granted) What is the best way to liquidate it? Or should I just grit my teeth, scape together the credits to soulfuse it?

This one is not very useful, as a good legendary of Slaughter will outperform it greatly. But still it has a core and therefore it has value. However, you don't have a donation star! Without at least bronze star, you can not sell isekai equipment. Try it: you can't attach it to MoogleMail! I'd just salvage it for the core if I were you - those are untradable as well but get transferred to persistent where you may at one time be able to use it in a future update. Ah, okay. Thank you.

It's too late now but, so that I make sure I understand how isekai works, couldn't he have just held onto that Peerless, since it would naturally transfer to Persistent anyway (without soulfuse) and either sell that item in Persistent later on, or salvage it for that same core in Persistent later on?
Question #2: if he buys that same item back from the bazaar now (it will cost a tremendous amount with a 5x --> 25x buyback penalty) could he salvage it over and over to get multiple Peerless cores? (this shouldn't be, but I can't find where the patch notes or wiki would explain why not)
Question #3: I saw other people previously try to sell such an item by just dumping it the bazaar and hoping the target buyer can snab it with timely communication (this is based on trust and speed, I presume). Is that how it works? I think this would have been a good option for a weapon of this quality. It's too late now, though. (plus, while this may be a worthwhile option for a lower value weapon, Noni could have been right in that it's better to safely get a Peerless core out of this than take the risk)

1. would be just as untradable in persistent, so what's the point? Core gets transferred as well 2. No. Equipment gets 'salvaged flag' and keeps that flag when transferred 3. I will never recommend that strategy. It's technically possible, but extremely risky.

Thanks, I had either forgotten or didn't realize that the Peerless would automatically become Soulbound after transferring to Persistent.
That raises some interesting discussion points here, though. It's still a nice weapon (obviously Slaughter is the most desirable suffix, but Balance or Nimble would also have resulted in a Persistent weapon that many players would keep...and some might keep that Illithid suffix as well).
If Somnophil needs a decent Persistent rapier, who knows maybe he could use that one, he would get a free soulbind in Persistent (probably doesn't matter, as most people have jillions of Persistent soul fragments). He should know that he still has the option to buy back that Peerless rapier from the bazaar for 1 day, although it will have a significant cost (over 100k credits, I think).
Many players would pay 100k credits for that Peerless rapier in Persistent, so if he still wants it, he can consider buying it back. He will still have his Peerless core, so it wouldn't be stupid I think, if he wants the weapon himself.
Also I just thought of another possible usage (too late now, though). Question #4: He could have waited a few months until the vast majority of players stop playing isekai, but not so long that the rapier itself loses isekai usage value, then tried to sell that Peerless rapier via the risky bazaar dump strategy. Perhaps with much reduced chances of trouble? (I agree though, that it should still not be recommended).
edit: This is kind of a separate topic, but I think that weapon is plenty good enough to clear Isekai Tower floor 50 like a piece of cake in the minimum number of days, with no upgrades. And not upgrading any other equipment or buying any other equipment. I would trade what I used in any season for that, in a heartbeat (except my last season's self-dropped Legendary Demonic Rapier of the Nimble). It would have been ideal if it had dropped when you were level 250~300 though, so that it would be stronger without soulbind in the isekai. Actually you could still soulbind that in isekai now, although it may cost a few credits. I personally probably wouldn't, because I'm such a miser that I'd use it without soulfuse even with level 199 stats.

Thank you for your consideration. I'm a very casual player who dislikes long IW runs, so I will stick with my persistent Legendary Shortsword of Slaughter, and I would never do something as risky as that bazaar strategy. Besides, I already have some valuable persistent equipment, and working up the nerve to open a WTS thread or decipher the auction system is hard enough as it is.
