Plate Armor has higher defense stats, but lacks damage bonuses, power armor has a bit lower defense, but has damage bonus. Generally defense of power armor is enough, and damage boost will allow to play faster.
In your case, your magnificent armor even has all 3 possible primary attributes, so, definitely better use that instead of plate legendaries.
About selling plate legendaries: no, these, sadly, don't sell that good, maybe only those that have Shielding prefix
