Hm, not sure if he does take a lot of his monster names from it. But he takes a lot of his humor in general from it afaik. And "a gun of some sort" just sounds like hitchhiker's humor.

Sound to me a perfectly simple english phrase, that you could find almost in every book you care to look for (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Now, if it had called its monster "Don't panic" (possibly in big red letters), now that'd be different altogether (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

That appears to be the script from last airbroadcasted episode "Fit the Twelfth" by BBC, according to Wikipedia. I'm not sure it appears in the book, but I read it quite some time ago, though. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) That's a good point. It isn't in the 4 book trilogy. Only in the original BBC II broadcast series. About 30 of my monsters are references to the original series. To me, the HHG is "the" most brilliantly written comedy series to ever come out of Megadodo Publications. The books are great, but..... The original radio series is phenomenal. Especially as background playing this game. |
