QUOTE(Tenboro @ May 6 2009, 02:31) - Overcharge will now increase the power of your normal attack by half the current charge level.
If that is as glorious as it sounds, I'm going to cry about not building a physical oriented character. QUOTE(Tenboro @ May 6 2009, 02:31) Old proficiencies have been converted as follows: the four "elemental proficiencies" have been summed together as Elemental, while Holy has been added to Curative.
Maybe this balances it? I have not been paying enough attention to the effects of the magic proficiencies to say.

The overcharge bit does make a difference. I imagine it's more notable for those who focused on physical attacks, rather than magical, but late enough in a round or GF, even my standard attacks have some punch.

this makes me sad, my enfeeblingdeprecating magic proficiency would be like 10 right now at least. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Spectre: May 6 2009, 17:01

I'm noticing the OC difference. I'm thinking I'll need overcharge tanks to beat the higher level arena battles. It's already making a difference for me in the grindfest.

I absolutely adore the Overcharge boost to attack. Now after I use my Spirit attack, the gauge doesn't just sit there being wasted. Thank you.

QUOTE(Alpha 7 @ May 6 2009, 12:18) IE 7... known glitch... layout disaster... broken
Following up on this, I finally got around to install IE 8 on a computer for testing compatibility, and while the battle window is horribly broken, it appears to handle the font engine perfectly. So even if I could get arsed, it's not worth my time to fix it for IE 7.

I am reading this in Firefox, and the battle went fine but, the basic font in Firefox is so anemic (thin and hard to read compared to IE's standard font). It looks I'll be returning to IE 7 for general use around E-H and elsewhere and just use FF for HV. IE 8 is a major resource hog compared to FF or IE 7 - I tried it for HV and ultimately rejected it as it demanded far too much RAM for no significant benefit. If it was me, I would neither do that for IE8. I hate developing for microsoft browsers.

Well it still makes up about 35-40% of our visitor base so I generally do try to support it, if it's not too much work. At least functionality-wise, the layout does tend to end up being a bit off in IE.

Wow, battling really eats up my health now. I have to constantly cure myself in battle. I had to put it on the easy setting. There are a lot more monsters to kill off at a time.

I've also noticed that I'm going through health much more quickly today. I chalked it up to recently leveling, though.

The sentences in my last post sounded like haiku. Wow, I need sleep.
Anyway, I just had my random battle and yeah, there were a lot of monsters and I had to keep curing myself. I'd use my magic and my health would drop and then I'd cure myself and it ate up more magic points and then when I attacked, it ate up even more health. I ended up losing at the very end and I was nowhere close to being able to use my spirit attack. It's really frustrating.
I was looking forward to getting my battles because it was fun but now when I see all those monsters, I'm like, "Oh, fuck." And Grindfest is out of the question now. That's become difficult, too. I've had to drop down to the easy setting and I've been using it all day.
Is it supposed to be more difficult but with a bigger payoff if we win?

Things do seem to be alot more difficult but the only random encounter Ive lost so far involved a manthra, whale, firefox and hamster. The big difference now is not having anything left to go GF after each fight

The fact that one round of grindfest can bring me down from 420 hp to 93hp just going against 3 monsters (peacock, whale and tentacle monster) says something. and this is on easy.
Can the rate of second wind be increased. That would help alot
