Ah, well, if you can get some cheap gear that is relatively good, even at 48 it'll have an effect. Cmal grinded from 40-50 in less than a week with heavy, and is still able to get by fairly easily, so around our levels full heavy is still relatively good.

So never mind i got to grind fest normal 39 without items, meaning something changed for the best. that, or i'm getting better.

Something changed I think. I'm now getting murdered in cakefest.

That is my limit after 153 rounds of Cakefest I managed to gain two levels and a two weapons and a chainmail helm (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

All the people who say they can get to level 100+ on cake are all under level 50. I don't see many people over 50 who are doing 100+ rounds, even with full plate armor. Monster attacks and skills just start hitting much harder than the 20ish absorb can handle. Armor absorption doesn't scale - the level 100+ plate armors don't give tons of absorb.

We'll see different kind of posts as people reach higher levels, and perhaps new strats other than "wear all plate armor".

I've actually already made that observation and posted it somewhere. I think. Maybe I started the post but ended up not making it?

In any case, armor is still in the balancing stage. Higher level stuff will likely get scaled up in stats because there won't be any point wearing them if you're basically taking the same damage without it. The penalty for wearing stuff way over your level will probably be shifted to match, as well.

I manage to get to 158 at cake. but I only used 4 lesser mana pots so I should be able to go higher.

i seriously dont get how you get to rounds over 100

i get to rounds 45 max at cakefest wearing two heavy pieces (one bought and one found) and dual weilding. going board and sword doesnt help me at all...

having a full set of heavy at such low levels is bugging me as well, i have to pay more than 3kC per piece, that woud make 15kC. i dont know where you get all these credits from...

^ same here.i was wondering myself if i just had the worst luck or my characters equips sucked horribly. i couldnt get past grindfest cake round 40.most of the time i got K'Oed from several criticals in a row

All that I am currently doing is cakefest and the arena challenges up to blazing field(not a high enough level for blazing field) and I usuall sell any spirit and mana items that I get including scrolls and infusions as well as anyequipment that I don't want like Staves and such.

Also whenever I buy something I usuall look for the cheapest stuff (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hell I'm using mostly cloth and I can still cakefest to the end of time. I got to 117 without using items and the ran away at near full health so I could do my hourly.

3 pieces cloth, 1 piece light 1 heavy, rapier and a buckler.

I am gonna try whit 4 godly mana druaght now and c what level I get.

Normal, used 5 Crude Mana Pots. I had 57 HP and 0 MP when I got here, so I fought until I dropped just to raise proficiencies.

lol I got to 154 this time,....second wind luck is deffently importent

using mostly cloth armor. items brought along were 2x Lesser Health Draught and 2x Lesser Mana Draught.

I could do many hundreds of levels on cake if I wanted to, using a mix of cloth and light armor and a particular staff I have. There's no point in doing it, other than proving I can, since I wouldn't get any decent items or EXP out of it. Heavy armor no amount of heavy armor at my level can make evey attack be reduced to zero, but there are other strategies that will let me do equallly as well and better. I've already demonstrated it by getting to round 50 and still having 100% full bars and items.

Once you hit about lv40, it starts to become difficult to do even 30 rounds on cake.


Freaking things start to rape with their skills.

Lucked up to 169 last night in normal grindfest. Second wind luck is good! Especially since cure got moved to earlier level. It's pretty much slash, slash, slash for me, with heals when I get in the 100-200 hp range (max hp is currently 314 or so.)

But I am one of those lowbies who lucked into heavy armor, a shield, and a decent shortsword.

Might start carrying a staff instead of sword and board just to try to get it's attack proficiency up. I tried being a mage, but game was giving me heavy rather than cloth.
