Just tried to see how far I could go recently.
Cake: 17
Normal: 11
Hard: barely 5

I'd like to thank luck, second winds, and my only pair of defensive equipment... heavy gloves.

cake: around 20
normal: 10
hard: well not over 4.
i am going dual wield atm.

I just made my record. Easy - Round 44 with 2H weapon and the credits i got i used it to buy 2 1h weapons for DW.

i just finish this on cake,i say it really good on getting ur weapon and armor proficiency up,on this 1 grindfest alone i get shield 3.21 and armor 5.00+ ,and im still waiting for armor and helmet drop

also didn get any equipment doing 134 lvl but i get shark-mounted laser (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) artifact and sold it,so if any1 want ,get it on market while it last.

it starts getting hard once they start coming as same lvl 20 as i am.at lvl 96 im dropping down and end up beaten using potion till 134.

I've been on normal mode the whole time but I'll try out cake to see how far I'll go now. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Bought a couple of cheap armors and got up to grind/easy 45... was immune to every non magical attack.
Enough xp for a whole lvl a 3 equips, all upgrades on what I had.

Thanks to my near-complete set of Plate armor, I beat up to Blazing Field. I haven't been bored enough to see how far I can grind yet though.

I finally manged to beat "A Rolling Stone" today, and got up to round 53 in the grindfest

just did a 132 lvl gridnfest at Easy dificulty now thats hardcore grinding, i've could've continue but i got bored and i leveled up 2 levels in 1 grindfest

LOL, be prepared for Endless Cakefest. Between Second Winds and monsters barely doing any damage to plate armor, you can go pretty high. Today I think I'll try Easygrind and see how far I can get.

It does seem like having a set of heavy armor is currently THE BEST THING to have, since in my incomplete cloth/light mix I am roughly as powerful as I was before the update - still making it to ~12/13 on cake and finishing Road Less Traveled - yet people with half my level but in heavy armor are plowing through higher arenas and surviving through 10x as many rounds in the grind as I can (which before was only a feat reported by people with ~100 levels or more).

And of course being able to do that many rounds of cake means ton of loot, which means more equips, which means even longer chance to survive in it. Good for you (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I wish the early equip lottery would have given me some heavy armor instead of clothen cap and leather boots (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Oh well... I hope this becomes somehow balanced.

Maybe not.

It's probably better for higher level chars to go with cloth for evasion anyway, considering the damage reduction through the armor is a set number, while with evasion they don't hit you at all.

Well yea, but I'm talking about in the current situation. As it is currently, for lower levels heavy armor is better cause it absorbs pretty much all of the damage, but for higher levels evasion is better since the amount absorbed is trivial.

Oh yea, got to level 25 then ran into a mind raper, decided to leave cause my luck with second winds sucked so I had to use my mana pots I brought..here's what it looked like when I ran (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

1 11 You have escaped from the battle.
1 10 You dodge the attack from Cookie Monster.
1 9 You dodge the attack from Rabid Hamster.
1 8 You dodge the attack from Cockatrice.
1 7 Blue Slime hits you for 0 crushing damage.
1 6 Mantitcore hits you for 0 piercing damage.
1 5 Fire Fox hits you for 0 slashing damage.
1 4 You dodge the attack from Mind Raper.
1 3 Flee procs the effect Fleeing on yourself.
1 2 You use Flee.
1 1 Effect Shield on yourself has expired.

Edit: Oh yea, and that's with only one piece of heavy armor, the rest is cloth/light...on cake of course cause I'm still training DW a bit.

It also got me to grindfest 30.

I'm up to Road Less Traveled in The Arena.
I've reached Grindfest round 39 on Cake.

I'm starting to see this...I have all heavy armors and I still take lots. I don't have enough credits to try out light/medium armors at the moment, but once I do I'll buy some and play around.


Also, it's probably mentioned before, but does difficulty level affect proficiency gain, and loot quality? I might be paranoid but it seems cakegrind isn't as fruitful as normal grind.

I don't think proficiency gain is affected - it's never been mentioned AFAIK - but item quality definitely is.

Got to round 127 in grindfest today with many godly mana items left but got bored and quit. Again not a single equipment drop (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
