so the conclusion is that we should all go melee
i figured mages would do crysfest better but apparently not.

depends on gear, how fast you are, how many rounds you can do per run as each & how many of those rounds are done with max crystal drops.

Its just as melee you can spend more time clearing rounds with the max drop rate and less time getting to that point. If I only want crystals then BT is best for me, but a mage will clear more rounds/hour and should get more tokens & artifacts.

So how much crystals per hour on melee BT on your test?

With only level 42 Scavenger I get ~20,000 crystals/hour (not counting artifacts) playing BT depending on what gear I use.

In that run I got 57,252 crystals +3000 from 19 artifacts.

Its too bad I can't do this anymore as a mage.

I get more than that playing normal as a mage, and that's not accounting for the extra crystals from artifacts and more tokens. Then again I do have max scavenger though. If you're only getting 10k crystals/hour as a mage then you most likely need better gear or your stuff are heavily underforged. Also, less clickery and button mashing as a mage.

I've only forged a few pieces of phase and it wasn't in the gear I was using to CF. The staff I was using only has a few upgrades and I wont even mess with that stuff much until my weapon is done.

I was comparing what I get on normal as a mage vs melee and they are pretty close. But both aren't close to what I get on BT. It would take a ton of upgrades to get close to what I use to be able to do as a mage and I don't feel like dealing with that the way things are now.

In Battletoads difficulty, I only got as far as Graduation arena.
In Heroic difficulty, I got as far as Road Less Traveled arena.
In Normal difficulty, I got as far as Endgame arena.
I have never bothered to try any other difficulty in Normal since a while though.

For Grindfest, I have tried Battletoads difficulty and got as far as around 15 rounds.

30k/hour is pretty conservative.

Cleared three schoolgirls arenas on IWBTH today. I wish i had more resources and time.

Gotten up to Power Flux but can't do Kill Zone in The Arena...

Just cleared T&T on IWBTH for the first time. Took over 10 God Scrolls and 10 Avatar Scrolls to survive the last 15 rounds and... it wasn't really worth it. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I think aurabolt is a pretty cool guy. eh solves maze and pony puzzle blindfolded and doesn't afraid of anything.

You must be a mage then. I had to use all these scrolls because I ran out of mana/spirit potions after round 85 and there was nothing else to keep me from duying. The only reason I beat the actual T&T in the end was because I had a maze riddle right after round 99, which gave me ~300 mana points when I was practically empty. Spirit too, I had to use double double SV and double Protection effects (without even knowing if they work that way) because I was down to ~50 spirit points from round 90 onward. (Eila501 taking away a few hundred points of Spirit every time I met her didn't help with that. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)) So yeah, I couldn't have possibly won without the scrolls and the last maze riddle, but in the end it was only worth it because it was my first clear on IWBTH.

That's a suicidal setup, but it's also awesome at the same time because I, myself, don't have the guts to play as a glass cannon.
