Congratulations. So it took at most about five hours? That doesn't seem so bad.

QUOTE(cmdct @ Aug 3 2010, 22:05) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) Battletoads EndGame Cleared Ditto. Had to use two items though, a Godly Spirit Draught and a Scroll of Life. I used the Scroll going into the last round, on top of casting Spark, to protect against a "double kill", and of course I ended up not needing it: 2 10 Cookie Monster misses the attack against you. 2 9 You evade the attack from Fire Fox. 2 8 Apathetic Canuck misses the attack against you. 2 7 Mutant Peacock misses the attack against you. 2 6 Mutant Peacock uses Peck 2 5 Zombie Cow misses the attack against you. 2 4 Manthra is asleep. 2 3 Dalek is asleep. 2 2 Manthra gains the effect Asleep. 2 1 You cast Sleep. Four casts of Sleep and one of Weaken later, I still hadn't been hit. Bit of an anticlimax really.

Good God Real Life was tough. 6 Mana Elixirs, 2 Spirit Elixirs and 2 Scroll of the Gods(which were pretty useless) were used. Used the good ol' PA+Poison strategy.

Received: [Average Silk Robe of the Raccoon] 611 7 Real Life dropped [Black T-Shirt] 611 6 You are Victorious! 611 5 Regen restores you with 74 points of health. 611 4 Real Life has been defeated. 611 3 Spreading Poison hits Real Life for 363 damage. 611 2 You evade the attack from Real Life. 611 1 Real Life evades your attack.

Never doing this again:
He was level 102 with 181,295 hp. When he was weakened hit for around 250-350, but he uses physical skills more often then any monster I've faced and they do a maybe 100 more damage. The Spirit attack 'Internet Shutdown' requires Spark to survive as it hit for more than 3000hp (I only got 2200)

I am beginning to think that its close to impossible for an "ordinary" melee character to beat End of Days until they're considerably higher in level. Over the last week, I've been trying the arena whenever I had time. My findings so far:
1) Silence won't cut it, you'll take too much damage from normal attacks and end up wasting MP casting cures. Weaken+Bewilder is the best way to go. 2) Spark is a must for Yuki. Even Bewildered, she will one-hit you and its all over. 3) DW is the best way to do damage. Anything else just does so little, it takes forever to kill them and in that time you're wasting MP recasting buffs/debuffs. Niten would have more raw damage, but you lose the power of PA which is more useful against a parade of Legendaries. 4) High evade isn't enough. Even 48% Evade isn't enough. I barely took damage when I went in with my shield (50% Block LOL), but my damage output was pathetic and I ended up wasting too much MP recasting.
I could probably switch to mage and beat it and be done with it, but that's what everyone else has done. A melee needs to beat it and show the way for the other melees.

Try to use weaken+blind instead it's more effective, with trio I only got hit every 8-10 turns, despite having only +35% evade, and SV only gives me more +20% foe's miss, spirit attacks rarely hit as well. That can make you switch regen II with regen I, or who knows if cure II would be more effective (each hit from the goddess were 1.5-1.8k dmg, regen II could totally keep with the damage, and I doubt legendaries hit that much (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)) Use bewilder when Mikuru/Yuki's SP bar is full, but I advise you to try them in RoB first, and see what strategic triggers spark more: bewilder or blind, and I wouldn't be surprised if blind won (you have a lot of supportive prof than me) (yes I do know blind is expensive than bewilder, but try) That's my advices, good luck (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Edit: Come to think, you can use RoB for seeing if it's more MP saver as well. Regen is more than enough to keep my HP up, its usually waste. The only times I've died is because of one-shots that manage to get through. They don't hit for a lot and I can avoid them most of the time, its just how long it takes to kill them -- war of attrition and all. And of course those lucky one-shots. I use Weaken+Bewilder with the Trio and the Tree and I usually only need one cast of Regen II for the whole duration of the battle. Getting hit isn't a big deal, getting hit with non-crit debuffed attacks that one-shot you is.

Well I don't melee for a while, but if it's the case can you kill them without regen, and weaken? Let's see you have SV in IA, spark to protect from 1-shot, and PA+poison. Cast only blind, and cure/cure II when you get hit. (The point is to spend less MP possible since you can't shorten the battle) QUOTE(cmal @ Aug 9 2010, 01:00) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) I use Weaken+Bewilder with the Trio and the Tree and I usually only need one cast of Regen II for the whole duration of the battle. I was referring to Trio and the Tree on battletoads, regen II only restore 250 HP per turn, as I said before each hit was about 1.5-1.8k dmg. Without blind, regen II couldn't keep up the dmg, I had to cast cure. With blind, regen II was wasted, even if I cast regen instead it would be wasted, so that's why I say for you to try blind.

Regen is still more efficient than Cure/II despite it getting wasted. Using Blind doesn't make a difference. I'd still have to cast Bewilder for just those few turns when I'm in the red zone for one-shots and I'd end up bleeding MP. I could save some by cutting out Weaken, but then what would be the point of not casting Silence? The Trio bosses are more like Konata than the Legendaries as far as difficulty goes.

Well probably until the next release melee has no chance of beating EoD, but what if we see this in other perspective. The biggest issue is, once MP is out you're dead. What about you rely in absorb for recovering it? Use absorption/mitigation rather than evasion gear. (A mix that won't hurt regen II too much, and if you can use +55% dark mitigation so you can leave spark) Finally use 2W with an axe in the offhand for max dmg output, plus not having parry will help too. Then don't use SV, and PA+poison. Now you use weaken+bewilder+absorb. In this way you're be slower, and without poison (I know that also means longer time to kill) the mob's SP/MP will recover normally, lot's of special/spirit attacks will hit you, which 75% of them will be absorbed. This is a exotic strategic, that most probably won't work, and I have no idea what these changes of equipment will do, but try it in a way regen II can keep up with the damage, you don't have nothing to lose. Of course you leave Ryouko with the usual strategic lol. Edit:Forget it, without using gossamer/phase you can't have enough base MP to make absorb useful (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) This post has been edited by cmdct: Aug 9 2010, 22:34
