Accidentally did Trio+Tree with my normal DW set. It was pretty easy, almost as easy as with my eth set. The only difference was I wasn't getting PA to proc as frequently since my rapier was on my offhand, so I lost a little bit of DPS. So there's some good news for those of you who are "pure" fighters like myself; you won't need an eth if you have a good PA and/or Bleed weapon set.

Exile Cleared - 1st Try

I waited on doing this, as I hate long slogs, and this was definitely one of them. I am going to hate Feast for Crows. Used a lot of Mana pots doing DW Elemental Mage style. Straight DW (R+D) until the md-boss arrive, then targeted Tier II AOE on them, and eventually full rotational magic to conserve MP. Once I got to the Final Round, it was simple enough, but, damn, getting there is expensive and boring. Last Round: Silence the Boss, clear the cannon fodder, then PA+Arcane Focus+Infusion+Magic for a few turns.

You really should try it as a pure Mage. I accidentally started Dreamfall with my 1H setup the other day, and had to use all my items to clear it. The most annoying part was having to use the Mana Elixir in the last round when all I needed was another Average Mana Draught... Anyway, as a mage I often clear it with no items used.

Went through Endgame for the first time today. I burned through a bunch of Average Mana Draughts, but whatever.

I'm not in a hurry to try the next arena.

I did 'first clear' the previous Arena as a mage but, I burned even more pots that way, and fighting a Boss with just magic and a staff without PA is slow and dangerous.

You have a better staff than me, and I don't burn any pots in the last round if I have enough mana for weaken+bewilder+poison+haste+regen+SV+flames of loki+chain lightning, then it's just a matter of using magic missile, I recover mana that way, not lose it, and channeling/ET do all the job, only when I have enough mana to kill it I shot him to death.

The pots are burnt getting to the Final Round and the Boss. With DW, I save a few hundred MP in the early rounds by just straight DW meleeing through them, and then using the Rapier to clean-up the survivors from the opening AOE Blast on Turn 1 of a round. I use Tier II AOE magic so, there's nothing to get ET from, and it's 19 MP per AOE. The danger comes from letting a battle last too long and getting Crit Skilled, especially by a Boss.

I could be much more mana efficient but, I want my rounds done reliable quick, even if it means overkill magic blasts.

Yes, I noticed. I'm going to be redistributing my AP in the near future to max out MP tanks, so I'm waiting until after that.

I hadn't when you posted, but I have as of 5 minutes ago. Of course, there's a lot of luck involved, what with Second Winds and Gems, so it isn't really a measure of the player's skill. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Funny for me is other way around, I even had a crap luck of only getting arcana focus after +20 levels cleared.
Essentially, I need 2 channellings, 1st I try to get in the very first rounds, so I can cast Arcana Focus, which avoid me being raped by those 4-5 mini-bosses rounds, then I have to find mystic gem or try to get a channeling by the end of the duration of arcana focus.
What more? I just cast thunderstorm and inferno until 1-2 mini-bosses are still alive, and try to get ether theft so I recover the mana I spend on SV ,haste, regen and occasional cure, I lose very few mana per round that way, and sometimes it even raise if lucky. I won't try channeling it's a waste of MP, only when I need the 2nd Arcana Focus I try to get it, but only in the final tick of ET so I won't lose much recovered mana.
Second Winds and Gems also help, but they aren't the most important factor here, it's the number of mini-bosses, I think I even cleared more times Exile than Dreamfall without items because of that.
