In my last battle, I cast Lightning on a Cookie Monster and it weakened it enough to where I could do an attack against it and kill it off. I kept thinking what would make a cookie crumble and it seemed to work.

EDIT: Oh, I see on the chart that would fall under Electric. I'll test it some more.

That implies fire based magic for Dalek.

A few corrections/counters to Wiki - "unspecified damage" = Spirit Attack (old Legendary Karma attack) the Legends in the Banner Battles used both magic and Legendary attacks against us, while the lesser monsters lacked Legendary points or attacks. "Attack Type" might want to become "Magic Type" while a "Spirit Attack" is added to the Legends table.

Fire worked well for me against Mithra whereas as Wiki lists it as resistant. That's the wrong term, too. Any monster can resist any magic. I use Magic Fails but, "Strong" would fit better in the table.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Dalek is resistant to everything. When I got one I just Flee'd, so I didn't learn much. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Edit: Yuki Nagato is resistant to Fire (no surprise there). I didn't learn what her attack was called because I was killed by something else. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I cant see how this HERE was not in the related!

By the way anyone has Dark or Holy Magic? Because otherwise I'm pretty sure Scary Ghost and Tentacle Monster will get 1 dmg from Dark Damage.

I used Fire against a Zombie Cow a little while ago and it didn't do anything. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

This seems to contradict previous observations:

In case you're wondering why I used Cold magic against a monster I believed to be immune to it... it was an hourly battle, I'd pwned the Green Slime and there was just the Panda to finish off, so I thought I'd give it a few rounds of Icestrike for this:

5 1 You gain 0.02 points of cold magic proficiency.

Not that I know what that actually achieves in game terms...

The one possible variant factor here was this:

4 3 Fireball procs the effect Searing Skin on Giant Panda.
4 2 Fireball hits Giant Panda for 67 fire damage.
4 1 You cast Fireball.

I know it's not logical for a monster's resistance to cold to be lowered because it's on fire, but magic doesn't have to be logical, right? (Or Tenboro changed it, or we just got it all wrong.)

God, what works on a Manthra? I got one today and it seems I threw everything but the kitchen sink at it and it basically did nothing.

Can't help you there, but it definitely looks as though Searing Skin (oddly enough) cancels a monster's immunity to Cold magic.

Giant Panda, no Searing Skin:

I just ran into an Apathetic Canuck - I didn't get a chance to actually harm the thing, but I did notice that it's meH attack did cold damage, in case anybody's interested.

Just glancing at the Wiki, I noticed the hamster's weakness was lighting. I found Wind attacks more effective against it. Anyone else notice that or is my wind magic just that strong?

Even with my wind maxed out and my lightning not increased at all, lightning seems to do more. I'll test it out some more.
