I just want Weaken right now. I'll worry about the next skill tree once I get to Lv. 25.

Get it before its hosing goes live. Because of it, I have abandoned using offensive magic. I figure that they are a waste of MP in most cases. The chance of an enemy resisting seems to me to make it more cost effective to weaken all of the enemies then smash them to death. Of course everything will change with the next update and I would not be surprised to see magic once again become the weapon of choice...

Of course weakening an entire group assumes that you spend the points to make the effect last longer than the baseline 4 rounds.

Finally getting weaken and lightning has made things much nicer. I still use the elemental magic because it's significantly faster, but weaken is great for the hard-hitters and the folks whose elemental weakness I don't have yet.

Yeah, I maxed it out. It usually lasts long enough versus a group of 4 enemies that I can kill 2 of them and be working on the third before the first expiration.

After getting to level 20, I immediately spent that ability point on weaken. This spell is essential for surviving against the tougher monsters and especially boss monsters. Because of that spell, i can do my hourlies on hard and I can do the first 2 arena levels at nightmare (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). If only i could cast weaken on multiple monsters simultaneously. That would be awesome,

Yes I agree. Weaken as it is is one of the best things to happen to me in my life and really makes me feel that life is worth living and we can all get along and world peace.

I hope and belive we can all use weaken to bring happiness and joy to the world in these glorious times.

Just to demonstrate the beauty of weaken. I did the first level of the arena on death mode:

2 4 Mutant Peacock hits you for 9 damage.
2 3 Weaken procs the effect Weakened on Mutant Peacock.
2 2 You cast Weaken.
2 1 You gain 0.02 points of deprecating magic proficiency.
1 5 Peck hits you for 193 physical damage.
1 4 Mutant Peacock uses Peck
1 3 Mutant Peacock resists your spell.
1 2 You cast Weaken.
1 1 You gain 0.02 points of deprecating magic proficiency.
0 2 Spawned Monster A: MID=25 (Mutant Peacock) LV=30 HP=3400 MP=59 SP=16 NA=96 Type=hostile
0 1 Initializing arena challenge #1 (Round 1 / 1) ...
0 0 Battle Start!

193 damage versus 9 damage. Weaken magic is teh shit.

double entendre? You taught me a new English figure of speech~ How is "entendre" pronounced in English though? Is it another messed up pronunciation of a French word? <(*ΦωΦ*)>ニャwww

By the way it was more like I learned that it wasn't just a sex joke..

Pronounced: än-ˈtänd(-rə)

"Entendre" is a French word, so the term translates as "double meaning." It refers to a phrase that has a normal innocent meaning but also another implicit one, usually sexual.

An example might be a juggler who says "I like handling my balls."

Giving the HV monster a bukkake attack makes it more explicit than the usual usage, but whatever.

Have you never seen a Carry On film?

Or in (Midwestern) American English 'dub-bull on-tawn-dra'.

And Tawndra can't wait for the bull to finish, as she can only handle so much.

I didn't know that something like a Sperm Whale actually existed. I have never been at such a place like Sea World and I won't visit one. I can't believe that a little pool is enough to make a big fish or fish-look-alike being happy. Not if this poor thing should be used to a whole ocean.
I prefer watching documentations on TV, seeing animals in their natural living spaces and hope that those living spaces will stay as they should.

I dunno what kind of sea worlds you have over there but they don't keep freaken whales over here, a few sharks and dolphins but they do give them lots of water. Going to such a place though you'd learn about them.

Anyway if you watched documentaries you'd know what a sperm whale is... They're fairly popular. They go well with petunia's.

You know something has got me curious why do all the monsters have a hostile as their type e.g.

Spawned Monster A: MID=4 (Cockatrice) LV=19 HP=200 MP=40 SP=8 NA=98 Type=hostile

Are there any plans for a non hostile monster say a pet or something. It just seems kinda redundant, we're about to beat the hell out of each other yeah they're hostile.

yeah Entendre would literally mean "to hear". I know that since it's my native language. So yeah I just wanted to know if it was like in my own native language. Like so many other words that are being destroyed by the pronunciation of English speakers.

Simple, I've known the sperm whale as a "cachalot" in French...doesn't really sound like sperm whale to me.

QUOTE(Sayo Aisaka @ May 17 2009, 08:27) *

Because in French this wouldn't make sense.

Now I get it thanks guys.
