I like being a "generic character class". Mostly cloth plus buckler and rapier or shortsword works for me. I'd hate to be forced into a fixed playing style in order to get the associated benefits. Plus you'd have to acquire a specific set of equipment first, which wouldn't be very easy for new players.

I think it would be better if we had the option to choose a character class with related benefits, sort of like the titles. The bonuses provided by the class title get a small plus for every attribute we have that matches that class. Like if you pick a pure mage title, you get extra stats for every piece of cloth you wear, or if you're swinging a staff, or for every point you have in INT/WIS. No penalties or boxing into specific classes, but you'll get the most out of it by conforming to the archetype. And there could even be unlockable classes that you need certain proficiencies in. Like you're a Warrior wearing all heavy, have a high WIS, have high Curative and Supportive and Divine, you can be a Paladin that gets boosted Cures and Supports.
Of course, this system would probably be a real bitch to implement since its complicated, LOL.

I would like to battle monsters from atop a fearless steed! It wouldn't change stats or DMG or anything and would be super simple to implement. All it would take is a line added to the battle log above the list of monsters saying "You are astride a horse". (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Not like, but in actual form of Titles! Like, have Staff and Cloth montage-capped (around 75% of yor level, right?) = unlock Mage title, for doubled Coalesce Mana AND, more importantly Ether Thieft chances and duration Have that and all spells = you are Magister, vith additional benifits of improved Magic Arccuracy, Magic damage and more Mana. Your ET nets you twice as much Mana. Have Magister, all spells maxed and all MPTanks and +Rating = you are Archimage. All spells have costs reduced, and effects improved. ... Well, lets not count most recent tier for Ability restrictions, so one won't lose his title for not having everything on it filled when it becomes first available. Excluding the seconds winds random, could apply natural regeneration at the end of each battle, to compensate for this gain MP in the end of each round could be a delay in spells and skills in the future.
The title of the people would be connected to the chosen path: mage, warrior, rogue and so on. This path influence on regeneration at the end of each round. The mage for example would gain more MP than the warrior.
The delay of the spells and skills could be reduced with the combination of two attributes.

Probably the most retarded suggestion of the decade: would you consider making an uber simple text only (no graphics at all) mod for HV?
Right now reload speed is pretty slow and whenever I play my firefox's CPU usage shoots up to 90%.
