I think we need pictures for the monsters, perhaps a contest for finding/drawing an appropriate picture for each monster? Also, maybe a way of setting a character avatar to pop up next to your stats?

I like this idea, but priority wise it would be 'eye candy' and thus needs to be put off until the actual code is fully working and usable.

Nope, but that doesn't mean Tenboro would impalement the eye candy in at a later date. Although I suppose that doesn't matter, if he doesn't, we could always post up on the wiki describing each monster with the winning pictures.

I can't imagine it would be terribly difficult to make a code that says put this picture here. Though I've never done any coding at all so I could be very wrong. Also, wasn't there supposed to not be any discussion of ideas in the thread? Which seems silly to me tbh but that's what it says.

You should get more exp with more monsters you face in a single battle.

I find it strange that I can fight 2 enemies at once in grindfest, beat them easily, and get like 4 exp. And then when I fight 4 enemies and get kicked around and finish them I get like 6 exp.

You should check your data. The grindfest only gives 20% EXP, and you do get awarded individual EXP for each monster based directly on its strengths. It's impossible that you get 4 exp for a grindfest battle and 6 exp off a normal one.

Er, no, I was in a grindfest for both. Sorry. It did sound strangely worded.


What I really mean is that you should give a higher exp bonus when you kill off multiple enemies in one battle, since killing off like 3 enemies in a single battle is harder than killing 1 enemy in 3 straight battles.

Say that every enemy gives 10 exp (in a normal random battle, just to make things simple, but that's not really relevant right now).

Killing one enemy gives 10 exp.

Killing two gives you like 22. 10 from both enemies, and perhaps a small exp bonus because you just took down two enemies at once.

Killing four gives you like 55.

etc.

Now individual enemies do give out different exp amounts, but hopefully my example got my suggestion across. Of course there might already be a bonus in play and I don't know (exp really fluctuates...)

I think dependencies on abilities should be removed. What I mean is you currently have to earn all three exp boosts before you can get the 1 cred boost and you have to get all the HP boosts before you can start getting MP boosts.

I can understand keeping these for magic, but for the other boosts I think they should be removed so you could boost MP before HP if you want or be able to get two or three HP boosts before starting on MP boosts.

I'm considering dropping the one from HP -> MP and the one from MP -> SP, but the rest will probably remain.

Yea it does seem logical to keep the SP -> Overcharge link since they are so closely related. But it would definitely be nice to have HP and MP separate as I'd probably just sink damn near everything in magic.

I'm not planning on doing much in the way of magic, but I'd agree making HP tank come before mp tank doesn't make a lot of sense.

I do it because I lean so heavily on cure. My highest magic proficiency outside of Holy is Cold at 0.41. Holy is currently sitting at 12.09.

Yeah, I think I might just tank it out, though I do plan on a bit of cure, just not a ton. I also absolutely love sleep, if you don't have it, get it, amazing spell.

I plan on getting it after I get the next skill tree just so I can know what all is there. Now that ability boost is costing me 20,000+ each it's getting crunch time to decide on things.
